"How come mommy and daddies are staying home?" I ask while kicking my feet against the back of Daddy Marc's seat.
Titan looks across Victor in the middle of the back seat to glance at me with his reddish-orange eyes and nods before trying to get Daddy Marc's attention, "It's Christmas Eve! Tomorrow is Christmas!"
Titan kicks the back of Cypher's chair, though Cypher growls and turns around, "Knock it off!"
We both giggle uncontrollably.
"Dad!" Cypher complains to Daddy Marc.
Daddy Marc chuckles and shakes his head before stating, "They're five, leave it be and it's been a long drive. They're antsy."
Cypher releases a puff of air before he grumbles, "Victor is six..."
"Everyone is different, regardless of age," Daddy Marc ruffles Cypher's hair. Cypher can't stop the smile on his face as he leans against the car door and looks out the window.
Victor asks, "I wanna see Uncle Chris!"
"You just wanna play with Taron!" Titan nudges Victor between the two of us.
I nudge Victor back so he's not leaning on me as I giggle. Victor nudges me and states, "You've never met him!"
Truth. Not my fault we don't get to visit the Crusaders Pack. Daddy Marc takes Victor every now and then for a short visit, but we hardly get to go anywhere fun lately...
...mommy and daddies keeping Titan and me home. Cypher's our babysitter when they're not around, though I don't want to worry about following mommy's footsteps right now.
I'm too little.
Titan is too little.
Besides...
...Victor is going to do mommy's job next.
"They'll all be there," Daddy Marc reassures him. It's a few minutes before he sighs, "There is a council meeting this weekend," he glances back at us, "your mother and dads will be celebrating Christmas when we get back. They didn't want you all to miss spending time with family we don't see often."
Understandable.
It'll be fun to see Uncle Chris. He's come to visit twice by himself to Castle Valentine, but not his pack. Doesn't matter to me, every day feels like a whirlwind. I just wanna have fun!
"Am I'm going to have to babysit?" Cypher looks back to Daddy Marc with a worried look.
Daddy Marc chuckles and shakes his head, "No. Pack mentality...you're forgetting where we are staying for the next few days. There will always be eyes on the pups, including you," he emphasizes and looks at Cypher.
"Hey! I don't get in trouble!" He exclaims and points to the back seat, "Lecture the twins!"
"I'm not lecturing anyone," Daddy Marc is calm and continues, "your disposition doesn't matter. All that matters are your age and you will be watched by those above you in the hierarchy."
Titan and I glance at one another. He shoves his hand into his pocket before taking it out in a fist. Furrowing my brows, he slowly opens his hand and shows me a bunch of paper clips he took from mommy's office.
My eyes widen and I grin. Victor glances at Titan and is about to say something before I elbow him quickly. He exhales harshly and glares, "Hey!"
"What?" I ask and look away quickly and briefly, Titan closing his hand at the same time.
