Last day of school. Junior year is coming to a end. My friends and I sit in the back row of the auditorium. We laugh at our principal, who thinks she's cool, and sit excitedly in our seats, squirming whenever someone says the word "summer". We will be leaving soon for California, to spend the whole summer there.
" When is this assembly over?" I complained. I was wearing navy blue high tops, and a ripped up shirt that said "Rebel, Rebel". Yes, I am a good student in school, but I have a different style compared to the other girls.
"Dont worry, Brit. We will get out of here as soon as possible. Chill". Taylor said quietly. She is definitley a girly girl, and has her own peronality. We are from Georgia, and she is absolutley, positively, a country girl. She loves sweet tea, and loves talking in her Southern accent.
"Shhhhhhhh!" smirked Katie. She loves movies, and she wants to be a writer, just like me. We would write for hours, making up short stories about love and mystery. She reminds me of a hipster, but she is a social butterfly. All of the parties are at her house, and she has other friends who are not as close as we are.
Martha laughs. She is very quiet. She never does speak, but she is very funny and down to earth in our little small group. She is extremely smart, and is kinda a goody-two shoes as everyone would say.
The school bell rings. We are free.
We run out to my jeep, backpacks and douffle bags in our hands, ready for the airport. We go straight to my house, saying goodbye to my mom. She and I are so close, and I'm going to miss her a lot. I see her crying, and it almost makes me cry. The thing is, in the worst situations, I never cry. I just feel horrible inside. I give her hug and she kisses me on the cheek, knowing this might be the last time I see her in a very long time. I get in the car, trying to keep the tears in to look cool infrount of my friends. I put the car in reverse, and head straight for the airport. Taylor, in the frount seat, turns on our favorite song at the moment, Reflections by Misterwives. We screamed the lyrics, and it kind of cheered me up a little bit.
We finally get to the airport, and we get out our luggage. Luckily, we have had our furniture shipped to our new house in California, so we did not have that much things to carry. We go straight to security, going through all of the steps, to make sure we didn't have anything that would get us in trouble. Of course, knowing Taylor, she was flirting with the young security guard, and this resluted in us dragging her away when she began to write down her number on a slip of paper. We go straight to our gate, and see we are starting to board the plane. We make our way down the long hallway leading to the plane, after we gave our tickets to the flight attenedent. We go, one by one, to our seat, me sitiing by TAylor, and Katie and Martha behind us. I look out the window and see the ground, and how we are slowly taking off. Moving to the air, I suddenly realize, that I'm ready to leave this small town called Macon, Georgia.
