Clara's POV

I tried being calm, but the truth is, I was scared as hell. The van had stopped. I heard the trunk open. When I tried to reach for my blindfold I got a clunk to the head.

"Keep the blindfolds on", said a deep voice. Just then I was picked up. I felt a sharp pain in my arm and let out a whimper. The person carrying me didn't seem to care. After a few minutes of walking, the person carrying me set me down on a chair. I was tied down and my blindfold untied. I looked around at what seemed to be a warehouse garage place. There were a few lights hanging from the ceiling that gave off a dim, eerie glow. There was garage door on every side of the big room. I didn't know if the led to more rooms or if this was the only one. I skimmed the room, looking for an exit just in case I got a chance to bolt. The only exits were he garage doors that were way too big to lift. No way out.

I was sitting in a circle of ten chairs. Only four of them were filled but more people were being carelessly carried in and dropped off. So far, there was a girl with bright red hair like mine who looked no older than twelve, a boy with short, brown hair that looked about seventeen (he was kinda hot), another boy who looked about my age with platinum blonde hair and, me. I wondered if either of the boys were Cody but I didn't dare ask them. A man walked in and dropped off Sky in a chair across from mine. When his blindfold was taken off I saw a single tear trickle down his face and I felt a lump in my throat form. It was my fault he was here. They wanted me, not him.

"I'm sorry", I mouthed to him. He gave me a sad smile and a nod in return and I knew he wasn't blaming me. That made me feel a bit better.

It took about ten minutes to get everyone in a chair. And then we sat there for what felt like hours. Finally, one of the men in a black gas mask stood in the middle of the circle.

"Welcome everybody", said the man. I looked at all the terrified faces around me that were probably mirroring mine. "We are so excited that you could all make it. Now, you're probably wondering 'why have you brought us here?' Well, you're here to play a game." The way he said "game" made my stomach twist. What a freak. Kidnap a ton of teenagers to play a sick game. "And it's not just any game", he continued, "this is a game of survival." Whatever the hell that means.
