"We've got a big day tomorrow," Ben murmured as he  turned off the golden glow of the lamp.

I just shrugged, why should I bother when I don't want to be part of the 'said big day'? I'm not going to get anything by participating in a netball game, our team will get to escape cleaning the humongous library, that's all.

When I'm sleepy and I go to sleep, I don't fall asleep but I am sleepy, it happened now also. But then eventually, I did fall asleep.

A dreamless peaceful sleep.

                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Darkness. Darkness was what I could see. I was awake and my eyeballs were moving laterally and up and down. Panic was consuming me and I could hear the erratic thumping of my heart.
Then my eyelids fluttered open. The strong acrid odour of smoke irritated my respiratory system. Dust and gravel stung my eyes. I rubbed them hardly and my breath hitched as I took in my surroundings.
My bed was a crinkled hammock that hung loosely between two big burnt remnants of trees. It was very difficult to not loose my senses because what I was seeing was not what was there yesterday night, the normal neighborhood of Park High.
The worst part was that, there was no one around not even my own family.
The sky was an angry red orange colour. Shooting stars, no wait, fire bolts were decorating the already horrific sky. It was humid and very warm and the air thick with the pungent smell of destruction.
A couple of bricks represented walls that were whole houses before. Destruction was everywhere. There was still no single human being in sight and I was on the peak of loosing my sanity.
My knees wobbled and I dropped to the harsh ground, my fingers clawing at my scalp.
An inhuman sound escaped my throat. I could feel a strange aura around me.
Then. Then I heard, a voice.
'Welcome guardian. Your rise has been expected. You will find your soldiers under the black willow tree. Waste no second. You have some minute Ultimatums to finish.'
"Who are you? Where is everyone else? Where am I? What happened here?"I demanded but there was no reply.
Do or die Zach,  so I was looking for the black willow tree. It was hard distinguishing trees, when they were all black and shapeless.
But if looked thoroughly, I could see a translucent magnetic pathway, floating in mid air and I followed it. It lead me to the willow tree.
I was so happy to see five other humans, with the same baffled look, standing by the tree. They all came to me and I didn't recognise anyone, all strangers.
'Welcome guardians. The one who came last is your leader, follow him, right the wrongs that will open the portal to paradise where you will find the rest of your kind. Or else, the portal will close and destruction will take over.
Listen carefully; break the wall of lies, anguish the fire of fury and stop the devil of murder.'
I only blinked because I wasn't sure of what I just heard.
'Waste no moment guardian. Everything is at stake, in your hands!'
My team mates; Jorden, Ramsay, Anastasia, Avery and Victoria were as terrified as me. But then, something coaxed me to be courageous.
" Hello guardians. Do not panic. We will fight this together and end this destruction. Let us start what we have to finish," I instructed.
