Chapter 2

Kate's POV

I saw him, he didn't even see me, he saw Emily before me. They had been good friends since 4th grade and I was just kinda...there. He started walking towards us, even the way he walked was beautiful. I realized it was staring and awkward pretended that I had gotten a text message, typical me move. When I looked up from my phone he was 3 feet away from me.

"Hey guys what's up?" He said

"Nothing really. you?" Emily said

"Yeah it's kinda dull around here. Don't you think, Kate?" He asked

My heart melted when he said my name. 'Quick think fast!' I thought but know words came out. Then I mumbled!

"Yeah, totally."

Yeah totally? Is that all I could think of!? Really Kate?!!?!!? He and Emily were talking, then he mentioned my name and I awoke from my trance.

"You coming, Kate?" Dylan asked

"Coming where?"

"To the pool party at Collin's? he said I could invite some more people."

" Yeah sure, sounds fun!" I said

"Alright! catch you guys later!" he said winking.

Emily and I giggled, i was never really 'boy crazy' but I liked/had crushes on guys often. I liked guys more than she did.

"What are we gonna wear?" she asked

" I don't know, let's go shopping!" I announced

" Yeah!" she agreed

I drove us to the mall. We each went into the PINK stores and found cute bathing suits. Mine was a pink and blue bandeau with black accents and black bottoms to match. Emily's was a coral floral print bottom and coral top. We went to her house and got ready. Light makeup, waterproof of course! Left our hair naturally and I drive to Collins house.

I knew Dylan would be there. I was practically shaking. I didn't know if I would even talk to him during this but I really wanted to! I was freaking out! Emily sensed my nervousness, and said

" It's okay, breathe." she said with a giggle to lighten the mood.

I laughed it off. We pulled into the driveway and walked inside. I saw Dylan, right away!

"Hey Kate and Emily!" Said Dylan

"Hey!" we both said
