I had managed to clean myself up, after looking pretty rough when I had arrived home to confront Piero about the incident. I still can't get the image of how sad he looked out of my head. It struck me like lightning, so unexpected as well as painful to look at. However, I knew that I couldn't bring up the subject again after just sorting out the whole problem. As I exited the bathroom, that was luckily connected to our bedroom, I glanced up to see Piero flat out in bed.
A smile bloomed onto my face, glad to see him finally sleeping. I couldn't resist what I was about to do next. Walking over to the edge of the bed, I perched behind him and brushed the loose ends of his hair out of his face. At this time, he had endured and started allowing his beard to grow out. I guess it really suited him, with the change of his glasses too I almost felt as if I was in love with a different form of Piero Barone from a different universe. But no, it was my one and my only. As my fingers softly touched his cheek, he flinched. Ahh shit, I've woken him up. Thankfully, I hadn't. He just simply rolled over to get into a more comfortable position.
I decided to get changed into my white turtle neck top and skinny jeans, my favourite combined outside that Piero decided to buy me one day. Heading downstairs to the back garden to greet everyone with my return. Watching from the kitchen's glass doors, I couldn't help but smile as I opened them slowly.
"Mama!" Came the scream of the twins, as the wrestled in the grips of Ignazio, who was lying on his back after being wrestled by the kids. His face lit up when he saw me stood there, before glancing back to Melissa with a smirk.
"You owe me my money." He simply spoke, as Melissa gave out a sigh and forcefully shoved it into his hands.
"Money for what?" I laughed, scooping up Ignazia into my arms, cradling her to me like I never want to let her go again.
"Ignazio forced me into a bet, where we would bet what day you would come back." Melissa cursed, slapping Ignazio forcefully when he was going to give a flirty comment to her.
"Keep it down guys, Piero's sleeping." I hushed them, only to get a babble response from Ignazia.
"Dada? Dada!!" She screamed, hitting me in order to get free from my grip. She only screamed more when I couldn't get her to quiet down.
That's when I heard the sound of a window opening, as I glanced to the top of the house, Piero had his head stuck out of the window as he rubbed his tired eyes, "Someone call for me?" He simply smirked, giving a little wave to Ignazia who was reaching out to him, almost crying her eyes out.
I am so not good with kids. Why on earth did I think this would be a good idea?
Piero was at my side in an instant, grabbing Ignazia out of my arms and bouncing her up and down. That seemed to make her smile more than she did in my arms. In theory, I felt rather jealous that my own child was picking her father over me. Oh well, I can't do anything about that. I can be a damn good mother if she wants to play that game! Piero caught me staring furiously at him, he raised a questioning eyebrow as he went to speak to me.
"Fiore, amore? Why do you look so furious with me?" He looked as if he had been shot with a bullet straight through the heart.
"I know that look!" Melissa chanted, "It's the look of jealousy! Ignazia worked her way into your arms, Piero. Fiore is jealous."
"I am not!" I blushed, my whole face burning up with anger and embarrassment, "If Ignazia wants to be held my Piero, then I don't mind that." I lied. I do mind.
"Ignazio, Ermanno, who do you prefer? Mama or Dada?" Ignazio grinned, causing me to shoot him my most painful glare.
"Dada!" They both roared in cheers, oh well. I just needed to try harder to gain their little cheers.
I couldn't help but smile though, as I turned back around to head inside. Piero was quick to grab my wrist, as he leaned in and whispered in my ear so that no one else could hear me, "Bedtime for these little ones. Our alone time in our room. Now."
I recognized that tone of voice anywhere, with his little purr at the end of the sentence. He's been controlling it lately, but I love it when he says things like that. Turning slightly around, I decided to whisper back at him, "You're going to have to play harder, Barone. Or there will be no game for us at all."
His whole posture tensed, as I glanced up at him. He was looking directly at me, the look of lust quickly filling his warm brown eyes that I adore most. Gosh, I loved it when he does that.
I need to take control...
He's having a serious effect on me...
And I don't care if I have to drag with into private...
I love him so much!
