When we entered the kitchen Isabel was playing skillet Whispers in the Dark. I just shake my head at her, and chuckle. Her head snaps up and sees me there.
"Alpha!? Why are you here? You should be with your mate! GO TO YOU MATE!" She asked, then demanded. My wolf growled lazily in my head. But did nothing else as he was reveling in us having our mate in our arms snuggled against us. However Isabel's yelling caused her some distress which annoyed both me and my wolf. But I just tip my arms slightly. Not enough to even cause my mate to slide.
"... Oh...." Was all she said. The song repeated.
"I brought her here for some food." I told my beta while setting her down so that my mate can watch me make her her food.
"Oh, such a caring mate you are." She teased.
"Who are we teaseing?" I heard a voice say. It startled my little angel, causing her to run behind my legs. While me and my wolf were happy she considered us a safe place, we were pissed that someone scared her. I look and see Bradly.
"oh, no one. Just the Alpha." Isabel told her mate.
"And he's LETTING you?" he asked, his voice brimming with surprise. The song changed to, Icon for Hire Supposed to be. My mate seemed interested in it.
"Oh hardy har har." I mocked them, as I went back to making pancakes. "Who used up the syrup?" I asked.
"That would be Eta Nora." Isabel told me.
"Figures." I respond shaking my head.
Shai POV
'SEE!' Daitan'na "yelled" at me as my mate set me down gently. Almost like I was glass, and the slightest breeze could break me. It was interesting.
'Is this the same Alpha as earlier?' I wonder, remembering the strength and speed he used against my old Alpha.
'Yes dear he is.' Daitan'na told me gently. I was having trouble believing that. He was currently making pancakes for me as a song was playing. I glance at the music machine. Skillet Whispers in the Dark.
'Hmm, Whispers in the Dark? I think I like this song.' I think to myself. Than the song changes and I'm dissapointed until I hear the music. I look again.
'Icon for hire? Interesting band name. Supposed to be? I like this song.' I think.
'Mates beta has good taste in music.' Daitan'na agreed.
"Oh hardy har har." I hear my mate mock them, he went back to making pancakes.
"Who used up the syrup?" He asked.
"That would be Eta Nora." Isabel told me.
"Figures." He responded while shaking his head. I ate my pancakes before falling back asleep barely aware of my mate lifting me up to carry me back to the room.
A/N Okay if anyone is confused as to why this chapter is called Trust it's because Shai is trusting Caelan with making food, carrying her, and to protect her. Also Caelan's actions of gentleness and love helped to calm her nerves and open Shai up to the idea of getting to know her mate. Also here are the Tattoos Caelan has.
