If this is your first time reading, Welcome. If not then yes re-wrote the first 5 chapters I just wasn't feeling it. It's the same story I just wanted to space it out. I felt like some things didn't make sense and relationships were moving too fast and I kind of wrote myself into a corner.
---------------------
"Angel, Let's go before we're late," I say pacing back and forth outside of her bathroom. I take my phone out of my clutch and check the time. We have ten minutes.
"Sorry, he let me off late today." He is her second boss, or rather, her daytime boss. Theodore Marcel, CEO of whatever company he inherited from his Daddy. I don't like the guy for multiple reasons. He keeps her until eleven some nights, once he kept her in office until one am because they had some huge project going on. I need my girl out of that office at six-thirty when she's supposed to be.
"When does he not" I roll my eyes. She steps out of the bathroom dressed in a floor-length wine-colored dress. Her makeup was on point, she had lipstick that matched her dress and winged liner that made her eyes pop. Her heels click along the floor as she steps up to her jewelry box and puts on the diamond bracelet I got for her birthday on her wrist.
"You look beautiful" I compliment.
"Thank you so do you" She smiles. We link arms and walk out of the house to my car.
I open the passenger door for her and help her in. Driving in heels is not easy but can be done. I adjust my seat further back due to the extra length now added to my legs and start the car. I put the address into the GPS and look over at Angel. "Seatbelt," I say with my hands resting on the steering wheel.
"Sorry"
We were currently headed to Mr.Guerrero's event. His wife likes to throw annual parties for their close friends, employees, and potential business partners to celebrate another year of great business. After a short ride, we arrive at the venue. A black carpet was laid out to the entrance, cameras were flashing, plenty of lights decorated the path.
Pulling up we were greeted by the valet service. "Be careful with my baby" I got it not too long ago, A matte black Audi R8. My dream car. The valet nods his head and smiles.
I hand him my keys and escort Angel inside. Everyone was immaculately dressed. The atmosphere in the room screamed money. I see Mr. and Mrs.Guerrero talking to some business folk looking like they wanted out of the conversation. I grab Angel's hand and casually make my way over there.
"So when are you going to sell to me, Guerrero? I can make it worth your while" The suit asks. Never.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, You've met Melanie Reid" He summons me into the conversation while greeting me and kissing my cheek. I nod my head at everyone in the circle giving a silent hello.
"Ah, yes the 'stripper'"
"And manager, soon to be owner, Nice to meet you" I extend a hand.
"Owner? What do you know about business?" he scoffs.
Mr.Guerrero drops his head shaking it with a chuckle knowing what was about to come next.
"I graduated high school a year early, went straight to Columbia one of the many Ivy League schools I was given a full ride to. Graduated with a degree in business top of my class, managed this club for two years, and have the word owner stamped next to my name on many small businesses in this city at twenty-three years old. I would say I know a hell of a lot about business. Don't let the lingerie and heels fool you." I smile.
Mr.Guerrero chuckles. "Burn"
The man stands paralyzed as all eyes in the circle are on him. He excuses himself and walks away. I take the time to greet Mr. and Mrs. G properly. "I missed you Mrs. G" I hug her and we kiss each other's cheeks.
