My Heart for His

This story will be started once one of my other stories "It is What it Is" or "bound to him" is completed. I'm still not sure about it though, so give me your thoughts

"NO! no you have no right to do that. You can't do that" Elijah Reeves exclaimed as he paced angrily in the hospital room. 

"Elijah, you have to understand. Your brother isn't alive, he hasn't been for a year. The machines are the only thing keeping his body going. He's brain dead" The doctor said from beside his crying parents "Your parents are just laying him to rest"

"They're killing him!!" Elijah yelled at the doctor "They would be killing him if they go through with this"

"Enough Elijah" Robert Reeves, Elijah's father, said sternly "Joseph isn't with us anymore and he isn't coming back. We don't want to lose him anymore than you do but we already have. He's not coming back." Robert nodded to the doctor who moved to unplug the machines 

"NO" Elijah jumped to stop him but was immediately stopped by the three security guards that were previously standing discreetly by the door. Elijah struggled and yelled and punched while the doctor moved to the machines and unplugged the. The steady ringing made Elijah freeze and stare at his brother, just like his parents were. He was dead. Joseph was dead.

Elijah tried walking towards his brother but the security men tightened their hold on him and only let go when the doctor gave them a nod. Elijah gulped and moved slowly toward his baby brother. He was just sixteen. He wasn't supposed to die. He was supposed to graduate high school and go to college and get a job and get married, not die without living his life.

Elijah allowed his fingertips to carefully touch Joseph's hand begging him to wake up with that simple gesture. His eyes welled up with tears and he sat on the edge of the bed and allowed himself to hug his brother "Get out" he managed to choke out "All of you"

"We can't do that Elijah. You're parents have agreed to donate your brother's heart to a patient in a hospital nearby. We need to extract it before it's unusable." the doctor informed him and Elijah turned and stared at his parents in shock

"So you killed him...for a stranger." he said angrily "To give someone you don't know his heart."

"We didn't kill him, Elijah. The accident did and your brother would have wanted to help another person if he couldn't survive."

"You have no idea what he would've wanted" Elijah yelled angrily  "you're not taking his heart, I  won't let you." The security guards grabbed him again but he was struggling and made it impossible for anyone to do anything. He saw the nurses put his brother on a stretcher "NO! JOSEPH!" he yelled but a stinging sensation in his neck made his body go limp and his eyes drift close with only one thought on his mind. They killed Joseph.
