Luna could only stare on in horror as the dog continued to beat on the door. She was now thankful Emmett had put up a protective barrier earlier. Considering it acted as the only thing keeping the dog from devouring them all.

"What do we do?" Harlow asked, backing away from the front of the store.

"Is there any way we can sneak out of here?" Nathan asked.

"Not without the dog noticing," Harlow replied.

As the banging continued, the four began to panic. Each frantically trying to think of a way out before the barrier could be broken. There was no way to call for help, not that anyone could reach them in this weather.

"Sewers!" Nathan exclaimed, "You run a business right? There's bound to be a manhole behind this joint."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Luna asked.

"Look, if we can sneak out into the back, without the dog noticing us, we can find the manhole, get into the sewers and take off from there! I know this city like the back of my hand." Nathan explained.

"We have to find something to distract this demon first," Emmett continued, watching as the barrier began to crack, "and quickly."

Harlow stared at Luna, waiting for her to chime in. She began to twitch her head towards the dog, attempting to get her attention, knowing Luna held the answer.

"No Harlow," Luna said, "I can't. Not here."

"Luna now is not the time to worry about us, if you know the spell to get us out of here, you better use it!" Emmett exclaimed.

"He's right Luna. We can settle everything else later, but we have to get out of here alive first." Harlow added.

"Oh goddammit!" Luna shouted, "Fine! Get behind me!"

The barrier began to crumble beneath the large paw of the demon dog, his jaws drooling as he pounded the door in anticipation of his meal. Luna took a couple of steps towards the door before closing her eyes. She carefully placed her heels beside each other, joining her palms together at the center of her chest as she began to mumble.

"I invoke thee, spirit of the wolf," Luna spoke clearly, "Come forth, and offer your aid in protecting your master."

The ground beneath Luna began to glow, a series of symbols appearing under her feet. The air began to thicken as her eyes began to shine a small green light. Luna placed her hands on her heart before facing her palms outward, towards the front door.

"I offer you my loyalty as your follower, and ask you, protect us!" Luna shouted, a large green light beginning to form at the center of her palms.

Luna focused all of her energy into her heart. Without total commitment to the Protection Spirit, the invocation would fail, and they would all die at the hands of a demon. She shouted again, asking the spirit to come forth. As she began to offer her loyalty once more, the ground beneath her ceased to glow, moving to the space ahead of her.

The blinding light caused the tapping to cease. Chairs and tables began falling over as the demon outside began to howl at the light. Luna looked on, seeing a large, white wolf appear a few feet in front of her.

"Thank you," Luna sighed locking eyes with the wolf, feeling her legs tremble as her knees gave out.

"She'll protect us. We can go."

Luna's head hit the ground with a loud thud as the barrier finally gave way under the paw of the demon.
