RECAP
Later, walking down the street, Monica shuddered. She let out a breath as she hugged herself. "God, I'm freezing. What about you? It's balls-ass cold." "'Balls-ass'?" I asked. I had never heard that term before. "Like, really freaking cold." Monica replied. I laughed. I couldn't help it. "Actually, no. It gets far colder than this where I'm from." Compared to Scotland, this weather was actually on the warmer side. Monica remarked, "I wouldn't be able to handle it.""You miss your family?" I was silent. Soon Monica answered, "It's complicated, huh? My family is complicated, too."
"Where you from?" I asked Monica. "Fallbrook," she replied. "Middle of nowhere, you'd love it." I chuckled. As we approached my apartment, I could hear the faint noise of my roommate practicing her tuba. "What the hell is that?" Monica asked. I don't blame her. She's not... exactly great at tuba. "That's the reason why I study in bars. My roommate." I told Monica.
"No," she said. "Mm-hmm, she plays the tuba in the marching band." Monica found this funny, as did I, and laughed. "Oh. You poor thing!" I smiled, as we burst into giggles. "Yeah. Thanks for walking me home."

"Should we get each other's numbers?" Monica asked. We both chuckled awkwardly. "Uh, to clear the air, I wasn't checking you out at the bar. You just... reminded me of someone.""I didn't think you were checking me out," I replied in my Scottish Accent. "You suck at lying," Monica said, chuckling lightly to accent the joke part. "I like that. Very un-American." I laughed lightly.
"Here," I said, handing her my phone. Monica typed in her number, and handed it back. "Be careful," I warned her.All laughter aside, Monica looked at me. "You be careful," emphasizing the 'You'. We both laughed lightly, again. "That," she said pointing a finger at my apartment. "Sounds dangerous." We broke into laughter yet again. I turned around and walked to the front door of the apartment sector and unlocked the door. Walking down the long hallway to my apartment, I noticed a black envelope on the floor in front of the door. Bending down to pick it up, I opened it, only to find a note with "I'm always watching you" printed on it with Red ink or paint. Glancing around nervously, I shoved the note back into the envelope and unlocked my door as quickly as possible.
