brenda's pov
"brenda! put down your phone and help me! this is a group project," avery said, putting emphasis on 'group'.
i sighed and locked my phone. then, i opened my backpack and pulled out my assignment rubric.
"ok, sorry! what do we have to do, again?" i said, smiling innocently.
right now my friend avery and i were working on a science report together. i was mostly on my phone, though. what can i say, snapchat is my life.
i peeked over at avery and watched her work on our project. i smirked and grabbed my phone out of my pocket and unlocked it as quietly as i could. i checked my texts for a minute and answered them.
i happily pushed on the yellow icon and clicked on my snap center. there, i saw a new snapchat.
'new snapchat from: j.g101'
what the hell? i quickly opened the message, it was probably a stupid spam from an online company.
clicking on the purple box, i held my finger down for a bit longer.
'aye bro, you gonna be at nash's party 2nite? heard it's gonna be killer!!!'
the person probably misspelled the correct username. i quickly replied and hit send, not caring about their response, if any.
'um sorry, you got the wrong user'
i scrolled through my phone for about 15 seconds, until i suddenly felt my phone being grabbed out of my hands.
i looked up and saw avery with an annoyed look.
"please start working? it's seriously getting annoying now, snapchat isn't as important as this grade, brenda!"
i laughed and apologized, picking the rubric back up and starting to focus.
