THE STILL STORM

“Da—ddy… Da—ddy, Welcome!”, my 4 year old son screamed and hugged me as I came back from work. I now carried him;
“My boy, how are you?”
“I’m fine daddy”
“What of mummy?”
“She’s in the kitchen”
“Okay” 
I went to the room to drop my bags as my son took my phone to play “subway surf”. I now proceeded to the kitchen to see my fair beautiful wife, Ann. She was cutting “Ukazi” when I entered. She didn’t even notice my presence as there was a loud music in the background. I gently tiptoed to her back and blindfolded her, then tickled her body.
“Ohh-mmm—mmm… Chris...”, she moaned
She then turned around and kissed me softly
“You're welcome honey “, she said smilingly and asked “How was your day?”
“Well, It was fine. We thank God”, I replied
“My hands are not good. Please go and do something else. Take a shower. The food would soon be ready okay”, she smilingly said
“Oh no. I don’t mind. I would assist you to do anything “ I said
“Please. You haven’t even pulled out your shoes yet” She replied
“Okay, fine. I will join you later”, I said and pecked her, then left the kitchen
I went back to my room to undress and opened the door, and saw Michael, my son, still playing the game;
“Daddy, somebody called you but I did not pick because you said that if somebody calls, I should not answer the call”, he said gently.
I smiled.
“That's my good boy”, I said and continued; “Clap for yourself!”
After clapping, I gave him Pringles which I bought on my way back. He thanked me, dropped my phone on the bed, and left the room. I picked up my phone to check who had called. I saw a number that I saved as “Don't pick 2” I now realized that it was Rose, my ex-girlfriend.
“This lady again?”, I thought. “She won’t just leave me alone “
So I decided to call her back. Immediately, she picked;
“Rose, why are you disturbing my life? What do you want from me? I gave you 500k to stay away from me but you wouldn’t listen. Take the money and go. I am now legally married. Don’t you understand? You are married too. Don’t you know? Get-a-grip,” I angrily told her
“Chris, I still love you. I can’t hide my feelings for you and you know that. Leave that my foolish fat husband out of this. That 40 seconds man. Please, no matter the millions you give me, it would never substitute my love for you. Please, give me a chance. I would do whatever you ask”, she said
“Bia, ha pu m aka. I love your friend that I married. I never want you in my life. My wife is the best thing that has happened to me. She is better than you will ever be…”
I said as she cut in;
“Please, Chris. I love you. What does she have that I don’t have?”
“Bye bye”, I said and  cut the call
Ann, my wife then walked into the room, and tapped me.
“Honey, what is it? I heard you scream so loud. What  happened? Did they do something wrong at the company?” she asked keenly
So I now told her everything that had happened;
“No dear. It’s that lady again. Rose. She has been disturbing me. I even gave her 500k plus the 250k I gave her last month just to leave me alone”
“Oh no honey. She is just desperate. You can’t keep giving her such amount of money. Investments on more assets would have been better. Even though we are comfortable, that doesn’t mean we should waste money on somebody that has refused to have sense “ she said, paused for some time.
“Please, don’t worry yourself okay. You have me and that is all that matters” she continued as she slowly kissed me
“Yes, I thank God for you. I love you so much baby”, I said
“I love you too”, she replied
We then began to kiss more intensely as I slowly began to undress. Of course, we wanted to have a little fun. We began to feel each other... until we heard a big bang on the door.
Immediately we heard the noise, we just stood up and headed towards the door just to see little Michael holding his toy, standing;
“Mike, what is it?” I asked
“Daddy, I saw a big flying cockroach. It was flying like a very big dragon and was chasing me around my room when I was watching Tom and Jerry”, he said seemingly exaggerating.
My wife and I burst into laughter.
“Okay. It’s fine dear. We’ll go to your room and chase it away”, she said
“Okay, mummy”, Michael said and left
We then closed the door and proceeded back to the bed to continue from where we stopped…
