Chapter I

"Hey Sasuke, those guys back there were tough, how you holding up?" Naruto asked Sasuke, trying to steady his breath after a battle with a group of rogues.

"I should be the one asking you, sounds like you can barely even talk." Sasuke replied coolly, though he sounded just as tired and exhausted as the orange haired ninja beside him.

"Hah, Yeah right, Like I'd be tired after an easy battle like that!"

Naruto and Sasuke were jumping from tree to tree on their way back to Konoha after completing a mission the hokage gave them. They had just fought off a group of rogue ninjas that came from the Village Hidden Among Dreams. The battle finished half an hour ago and since then have been heading at full speed towards to Konoha.

Sasuke looked over his shoulder and saw Naruto slowing his pace. Sasuke could see the fatigue in Naruto's face. He decided to leap down, landing elegantly on the ground.

"Let's stop here for now, it doesn't look like we can make it back to Konoha without you passing out mid way there." Sasuke said calmly, though he himself was glad to have stopped, he was exhausted as well.

"We don't need to stop! I can keep going,"
...
...
...

"But I guess we can stop since it's probably you who can't keep up" Naruto replied smiling happily as the plopped himself onto the ground, head resting on a, oh so cozy, tree trunk.

Sasuke scoffed smirking.

Sasuke sat down and slumped himself onto the neighboring tree beside Naruto and pulled out a small bag from under his flak jacket. He slowly opened the bag by removing the knot that kept it closed. Sasuke stuck his hand in the bag and pulled out a triangular shaped object.

Naruto was not so stealthily looking over at Sasuke, curious to what he had in his hands. As Naruto continued to spy on Sasuke, he opened up the triangular objects; Naruto was delighted when the scent escaped Sasuke hands. He could see and smell the the onigiri. Without noticing what he was doing, Naruto slowly crawled to Sasuke's side until he softly bumped Sasuke shoulders and came back to his senses. Naruto shot Sasuke his goofiest grin practically yelling 'I want it'.

Sasuke smiled kindly at Naruto and ripped the onigiri in half. Naruto's eyes lit up, knowing he'd have a taste of the delicious smelling food. The longer Naruto waited for Sasuke to hand over the onigiri the more he grew impatient.

Naruto POV

I stared at Sasuke then at the half ripped piece onigiri in his hand for over 2 minutes now and I was growing impatient. Is this jerk going to give me the piece or not? Suddenly I saw his hand holding the onigiri slowly move closer to my mouth...

WAIT?! Is he going to feed me? Should I speak up? What if I ask and then he refuses to give me the piece. I'll just play along for now, yeah. Good idea me! Free food!

As the onigiri was mere inches away from my mouth, I opened it slightly, moving my head ever so slowly towards Sasuke's hand in order to eat it quicker. Just as the rice's fragrance touched my lips, it went away and Sasuke shoved the onigiri into his own mouth, smirking and looking at me evilly.

"No" is all I heard the jerk say.

Don't get angry... Don't get angry... Dont get---...

I pounced on Sasuke tackling him to the ground.

"BASTARD! What the heck! I was really hungry y'know! Why'd you have to go and give me hope?!" I yelled furious, trying to take the last piece from his other hand.

I was positioned on top of Sasuke in an awkward position, our legs between each other and Sasuke lying on the ground panting out of silent laughter. BUT WHO CARES, all I cared for right now was that beautiful piece of rice in Sasuke's hand. I stretched out to grab the onigiri from Sasuke's hand as he was pulling it further and further away. As I extended my hand one last time my knee rubbed against his thigh, I think.
