Chapter 24

Alexandra POV

There was lot of movement in the bed where Alexandra was sleeping with her friend Jessica. This was after a month and since then the woman and children have become very close to one another but then there was one thing which was still not proper and that was with Jessica and James.

You see Jessica has been going out with James for almost two months and they were in this very important phase of the relationship where secrets can make things better for them. Jessica was worried that if she told James about Brendon then he may end things with her or not  anything might be possible. Alexandra got up and she saw her friend who was constantly moving in the bed. She switched on the lights of the room and that got Jessica's attention and she got up and saw her friend with a disapproved look.

"Hey don't you dare look at me like that I am trying to sleep here and your movement in the bed is disturbing me Jess" said the dark haired woman scratching her scalp.

"Sorry J but I am nervous about James and the date tomorrow I want this to be proper I don't want to lose him or Brendon they both are very important in my life" said Jessica as she laid her head on her friend's arms.

"Listen James is an understanding guy remember the way you guys met and the way he took you to that burger joint in the middle of the night I mean he genuinely likes you sweetie" said Alex trying to cheer her friend.

"Okay I will go to sleep but we will talk in the morning" said Jess and she switched off the lights and she went back to sleep.

There came a sound from monitor and Jessica heard that and she came out of the room in her robe and she came to the living room to see Brendon Brendon sitting on the couch and looking at the ceiling of the house. Jessica switched on the lights and she came and sat near the small boy.

"Sweetie what are you doing out of your room you know you are supposed to sleep in your room and not come out in the night right?"asked Jessica getting the boy's attention.

"Please don't leave me mommy" said Brendon with tears in his eyes.

"No baby why would you even think that I would never leave you, I am your mommy I would never leave you" said Jessica as she saw her friend come downstairs.

Jessica pulled the boy on her lap and she opened her robe which revealed her naked arms so she leaned Brendon's head on her chest so she can make him listen to her heartbeat.

Jessica asked her friend if she can get a bottle of milk for Brendon. To be frank it had been days since the littles were on drugs. They slipped without the drug and it was good for the ladies as well. Alexandra nodded as she went to the kitchen and she grabbed a sippy cup from the cupboard and filled it with milk and heated it and she came back to the couch and handed it. 

Jessica grabbed the bottle from the brunette and she handed it to Brendon and saw to it he drinks the whole thing. Jessica sat in front of the duo and she watched as her friend rocked the little boy in her arms and those little eyes closed slowly. Once the bottle was empty Jessica got up from the couch and carried the boy to her room and laid him on the bed and she too got in with the boy under the blanket and laid with him as she didn't want to leave him alone.

Next morning

Alexandra got up in her bed and she saw next to her and a little figure was sleeping in her arms with a thumb in her mouth sucking softy. The woman smiled and she kissed the small girl on the head and once that was over she replaced the thumb with a pacifier and she ran downstairs to the kitchen to see her friend already up and drinking coffee with a muffin on a plate.

"Do you have another muffin or that was the last one babe?" asked Alexandra getting herself a cup of coffee.

"I got a new pack when I had been to the market today morning so what do you want to have for breakfast Alex?" asked the woman taking out the muffin box from the refrigerator.

Alex just took out a muffin from the box and she put some butter on the crust and she microwaved it and took it out as it was crisp and delicious. Jessica got up from the chair and got another cup of coffee and she sat on the counter drinking the coffee and she saw that Lexi came down the stairs holding her cat stuffed toy in her hand and a blanket wrapped around her.

Alex saw this and she went to the girl and picked her up in the arms and she kissed the girl on the head and the cheeks which made the girl squeal. Lexi was made to sit in her chair and the muffin which was prepared by Alexandra was given to Lexi and a glass of milk was placed on the table as well as Lexi needs the milk every morning.

There was a knock on the door which made Jessica jump from her seat. Alex saw this and she raised an eyebrow at her friend. "Calm down babe why are so you so terrified it will be one of our friends.

Alexandra went to the door and she looked into the peephole and her eyes went wide and she ran back to Jessica. She pointed to the door and she started breathing heavily. "J Ja James is on the other side of the door" she said panting.

"Good that Brendon is still sleeping in his room I want you to take Lexi inside with her breakfast and I will deal with James" said Alexandra as she fixed her hair and she went to the door.

When the door opened James was standing at the door and he was holding a bag in his hand. He looked at the woman standing in front of him and he smiled at her and then he gave the box to her and smiled at her.

"James come on in I thought we were meeting at your place for the dinner and you wanted to spend the night with you so what are you doing here?" asked Jessica and she welcomes James into the house.

"I want to ask you something Jessica and I need a honest answer" said James and he looked into the woman's eyes. James took out his phone and he opened a photo and showed him a photo of her and Brendon.

"You missed one thing though you told me you were single then how come you have a 13 year old kid?" asked James.

"James I can explain that its not what you think it is I wanted to tell you but then I didn't know how you would feel" said Jessica and she took James's hand in hers. Then Jessica explained how after two weeks of dating she got Brendon in her life but then she didn't want to keep it a secret but she had to as she was scared what James would think of her. James heard everything and he closed his eyes and he looked at his girlfriend and he took his mobile and he deleted the photo and kept the phone in his pocket.

"I don't know what to say" said James and he looked away.

"What do you mean James" asked Jessica.

"Well no one does this no one just takes up responsibility of a person and decides to take care of them very few of them have hearts like you Jessica and I admire you for that" said Jessica and he kissed her lips but then it was interrupted by Lexi who came into the living room and she was standing right in front of Jessica and James. James looked at the little girl and he smiled and waved at Lexi.

"Hi there what is your name sweetie?" asked James waving at her.

"Lexi" said the little girl. But then when Lexi said that Alexandra came into the room and she picked the little girl up in her arms and she held the girl's ear.  Lexi started to fuss and she hid her face in the brunette's neck as she was feeling shy and embarrassed at the same moment. Then James stood up and he came near Alexandra and kissed Lexi on the cheeks. "Relax sweetie its not her fault that we were kissing in the living room" said James.

"I am sorry James she is usually not like this but something is up with her today and I intend to find out how about a movie and a lunch double date I will call my guy and we all can go out and have a blast" said Alexandra. Listening to this James nodded and even Lexi got a smile on her face because she is going to have so much fun with all of them.
