Tic toc tic toc tic toc..

There was total silence except for the second hand on the clock, ticking as the time went by. I'm lying on my back on the living room couch for hours waiting for him to come home. He was supposed to be home 3 hours ago. I've been trying to reach his phone for several times now but still, no answer. It's our 7th year anniversary today and I'm starting to think that he forgot about it.

tic toc tic toc...

Still no sign of him..

tic toc tic toc...

I let out a deep sigh as I scrolled back and forth through my phone. I started to worry. Michael never forgets about our anniversary. He's not the type to just run off to somewhere and just doesn't call or tell me what's going on. Instead, he's the type of guy who remembers the little things you do and find it so adorable. Like the way you throw you head back when you laugh, the way your eyes squint when you smile at him, the way you hold your tummy when he tells you a joke and you crack up. He's the type of guy who texts you out of nowhere just to tell you the most random thing that happened to him. He's the type of guy who would call you in the middle of the day to ask if you ate because he won't be able to take you out for lunch because of work. He's the type of guy who would kiss you the moment you woke up in his arms and won't mind your morning breath. He's the type of guy who wouldn't be embarrassed to buy your tampons for you when you're on your period. He's the type of guy who would always have that perfect smile that's so contagious. He's the type of guy who would hold you in his arms when you're mad at him and just stays that way until you calm down. He's the type of guy who would take you to bed after you fell asleep on the couch after having a video game session or movie marathon with him. He's the type of guy who would cuddle with you when you're sick even though you could possibly infect him. He's the type of guy who would always and always make you feel loved in every single way possible.

But right now, it just doesn't add up..

Tic toc tic toc..

Still nothing...

I got up and started to walk back and forth through the living room floor. Twisting and turning the circular ornament around my ring finger, fiddling with my fingers and checking my phone once in a while. My heart beat got faster and I'm starting to feel that awful feeling in my gut that something is so wrong.

I scrolled through my contacts and when I got to Luke's name, I pressed the green button and waited for him to pick up. Maybe he knows where Michael is.

"hello?" I heard Luke's voice on the other line.

Luke is Michael's best friend. They have been the best of mates ever since they were embryos in their mothers' wombs. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but they're so close like they've known each other since the beginning of time. Luke is a really nice guy and it feels like he's a brother to me.

"Luke! Thank God you picked up.. have you seen Michael? I've been trying to call him but he's not answering. I was wondering if maybe he's with you?" I spoke through the phone like my tongue is being chased.

" I thought he's with you? I called him earlier asking him to come over and hang out but he said that he had plans cause it's your anniversary. Why? Hasn't he come back yet?" Luke answered with a hint of worry in his voice.

Now I'm starting to Panic. I don't know where Michael is, Luke doesn't know where Michael is. Where the hell could he possibly be?! My hands were shaking as I'm holding up my phone to my ear when it started to vibrate. Another incoming call.

"Luke, I'm gonna put you on hold for a sec. I've got another call coming. Maybe it's Michael." And with that, I switched to the second caller.

"Hello? Michael? Where are you? Are you okay?! Why haven't you been answering?" I rambled on out of desperation for answers.
