Sean Gilbert's family was a well known family in the community. And they called the top defense attorneys Barnes and Barton Law. Bucky and Clint agreed to take the case after Mr Gilbert told him everything.
Sean Gilbert pleaded not guilty to killing and guilty to raping her during the preliminary hearing with judge. Bucky knew he was going to have to find a loop hole in the prosecution to prove his innocence. And that was going to be tough considering everything was pointing to him being guilty.
They agreed to meet to see if they could work out a plea deal. To avoid this case going to court. Bucky knew what he wanted for his client and Sutton knew what she wanted.
Bucky was in the prison conference room meeting Sutton Taylor. She walked in with her red hair curled and glasses. A black pin stripped pant suit and heels as she sat her breifcase down.
"So Ms Taylor do you have a plea bargain for us or am I going to see you in court?" Bucky said
"He pleads guilty and I can do 20 years with no parole" she said
"Ms Taylor..he can do 15 years with the possibility of parole. You need to remember he is a 17 year old kid." Bucky said
"Who raped and strangled a girl for a stupid competiton at school. I highly think he deserves special treatment." Sutton said
"Then I'm advising my client to not take this deal. Ill see you in court Ms Taylor." Bucky said as he stood up and grabbed his briefcase and walked out.
The baliff took Sean back to his cell. The next morning both lawyers began to put together their cases. Clint had to sit this one out as well as Sutton's office partner Wanda. They were married and Judge Fury made it a rule.
Clint helped Bucky put his case together. "God this sucks Buck..how are we suppose to prove he didn't do this. I mean for fuck sakes his semen was found in her as well as a pubic hair. Not to mention his scratches."
"I know..but he swears that she was still alive when he left her." Bucky said.
"So he is pleading guilty to raping her?" Clint said
"Yeah..the autopsy said she was strangled to death. And unless someone came down the alley after he left to finish her off but the only person that would know that is dead." Bucky said as he read it over and over again.
For hours he went over every piece of evidence. He flipped his table and yelled "God Damn It! "
Snapping Clint out of his slumber. "Geez man."
"Sorry this is going to be hard. All we have is his friends we don't have a single piece of evidence to show that he's not guilty." Bucky said as Clint helped him pick up everything.
