Mingyu looked forward to meeting Junhui everyday. Whether it be running into each other in the hallways, planning meet ups after school, or anyway they could see each other. And the latter was clearly into it as well. It being their flirty remarks or literally just anything. Talking to each other felt liberating. It felt like walking on clouds and Mingyu literally felt high. Junhui was a drug to him and he was addicted since day one. He thought it was so nice to have such a good friend and he wanted to spend the rest of his life hanging out with Junhui.
Mingyu was daydreaming again. He nearly shut his locker on himself before he pulled himself out of his thoughts. It would be nice to talk to Junhui now. I bet he's out of class. Should I ask him to hang out again today? But we hung out yesterday, I don't want to be pushy.
"Hey, Mingyu," a soft voice yanked Mingyu out of his own mind and nearly caused him to drop his books. He turned quickly to see Junhui happily grinning at him. His breath caught in his throat nearly causing him to cough.
"Hi, Jun," he unconsciously smiled at the smaller male making Junhui's smile bigger. He was getting high again.
"What were you thinking of doing after school? Wonwoo and I were gonna hang out so if you wanna come just tag along," Mingyu's eyebrows furrowed at the mention of Wonwoo. He loved Wonwoo. Wonwoo was one of his best friends since childhood but he kind of wanted to be alone with Junhui. They just work better like that.
"You know I wouldn't usually turn down an opportunity to hang out with you but I really have to study," Mingyu said regretfully when he noticed Junhui's smile slowly turn into a frown.
"Oh," ouch.
"that's fine. I know you need to since you're stupid," Junhui chuckled at himself as Mingyu feigned a hurt look. The bell rung and Mingyu almost got mad at it for taking his time with Junhui away.
"Bye, dumbass," Junhui started walking away to his next class. Mingyu smiled.Junhui glanced over to to Mingyu walking back to him with a couple of drinks in hand. Mingyu somehow made it over with out spilling any and sat across from Junhui.
"I'm surprised you didn't ask for help," Junhui remarked while smirking.
"I don't need help," Mingyu grabbed a drink and took a long sip as Junhui faked a frown.
"You don't need me?"
Mingyu chuckled, "I didn't say that," he raised an eyebrow making Junhui smile. Mingyu never noticed that the both of them just took moments to just look at each other. It almost flew past him but he finally noticed that they took so many moments just to savor everything about their moments with each other. It was so nice."Alrighty, you lovely couple," They both looked over to Wonwoo who was finally out of the bathroom, "that's enough. I'm not trying to be a third wheel."
Mingyu leaned back and chuckled, glancing around while Wonwoo slid in the booth next to Junhui.
"We're just joking."
Junhui looked over to Mingyu causing Wonwoo to look at him. He sighed, "I highly doubt that," he laughed and clapped Junhui on the back to try to cheer him up subtly. Mingyu laughed, "I mean of course we're just friends," Mingyu belted out before nervously taking another sip of his smoothie.
Um...ok?
Did Mingyu think Wonwoo was dumb? He didn't need to clarify. Wonwoo's not so dumb that he would need it spelt out for him. After awhile without any response, Mingyu panicked again.
"Well, I'm talking to a girl anyway," Mingyu shrugged, playing with his drink. This time Wonwoo and Junhui both snapped their attention to Mingyu.
"Are you serious?" Wonwoo asked. He knew Mingyu and Junhui we're friends but he knew that they liked each other. He saw the way they looked at each other. Maybe he was overthinking it. Maybe they really were just friends. He glanced at Junhui who looked almost weird. There was something off about him now.
"Yeah, we've been talking for awhile," Mingyu pursed his lips, avoiding eye contact with either of his two friends. He noticed Mingyu has been off for awhile. Mingyu kept emphasizing the fact that his male friends were in fact his male friends. Wonwoo may be dumb, but even he could catch everything that has been happening this past couple of months. He hesitated.
"Do you even like that girl?"
Wonwoo looked at Mingyu, eyebrow raised.
Mingyu sighed heavily and looked at his best friend, a look Wonwoo couldn't put his finger on in his eyes.
"Yeah, of course I like girls," Mingyu insisted before taking another sip of his drink, looking away again. Wonwoo cleared his throat and nodded.
"Mingyu," Wonwoo mumbled.
