"But...but...I'm a good man! And I wish to stay with your church!" Timothy blurted out, the desperation clear in his voice. Roman sighed, shaking his head.
"I am not sure if that is an option, Timothy. You slept with the girl, with the unbeliever. She is a sinner and a bad influence."
Timothy wanted to object, he wanted to say that Rio was good and pure, despite their differences in opinion and belief, but he couldn't. The risk of being banished from this church was far too great. Of course, there were other churches, where they had no idea of his questionable personal life but that fact didn't occur to the holy man. At this point, it seemed like this church was the only one in the world. Roman had a bigger hold on him than he liked, than he realized.
"I love her.." He finally said with reluctance. "I love her, Roman." With tired eyes, he looked at the other, deeply troubled over the situation. He pinched the bridge of his nose and frowned, letting out a sob. His hand moved up so he could cover his eyes with his fingers but he wasn't able to stop himself from crying.
Roman stood up and moved behind the Monsignor, gently putting his hands on his shoulders to comfort him. "Go ahead and cry, my son, there is no shame in that." He whispered. "I think we can find a solution for his situation, so we don't have to part ways."
This made Timothy look up with hope in his eyes. "Really? You'd work it out with me? You are so forgiving, I don't deserve it."
"Nonsense. You do deserve it. It's not your fault that this witch has you under her spell. We are going to set you free together. As long as you follow my instructions and don't ask questions about my methods. They can be...unorthodox. But in the end, they work." Roman mused.
He sat back down and smiled at Timothy, an eerie look in his eyes. A look of anticipation. He couldn't wait to implement his plans and this was the perfect moment. He moved his hand to the side of his head and rubbed his bottom lip with a finger. Timothy looked back at him, docile and waiting for a command. Lovely sight, Roman thought.
"Tell me, does she say that your bedroom activities...are normal?" Roman asked the priest. Timothy nodded, a little embarrassed to talk so openly about it. "Yes, that is usually the tactic. It is normal, I guess, for the riffraff. But we, Timothy, we are higher than the riffraff, aren't we? We are spiritual mentors, elevated from earthly desires. Especially one so carnal as this. Does she find seducing you amusing? Does she say things that she knows will make you weak?" Again Timothy nodded. Roman continued. "That is proof that she does it for her own sick amusement. She enjoys corrupting what is good."
"I-I think she is a good person as well.." Timothy weakly protested and Roman chuckled.
"I know you think that. But for starters she is not a Christian. Then how can she be good? Despite her evil ways, I have hope and faith that we can readjust her behaviour. So that the two of you can enjoy each other while still be in touch with the lord." He smiled wide, his eyes sparkling again.
"But how could we do that? She'd never agree to a life of celibacy." The Monsignor inquired with a frown.
"Let me take care of that." Roman said, a tad too fast. The Monsignor shot him a curious look. "I mean, I think I will know how to persuade her. Not to a life of celibacy, but to go along with my plan."
"Which is?"
Roman hesitated for a moment when Timothy asked what his plan was. Would Timothy object? He had to try, he could always try and talk him into it, if he disapproved.
"My plan is to seduce her. Bed her. And during that, I will try to make her see the ways of the lord, by bringing her to her edge and then make her pray instead of peak. I understand it's unorthodox, but I assure you that it works."
