" Spill " Anika said in a firm voice settling down on the couch with a cup of chai in her hand.

" I wanted to make him jealous so I took your lipstick and smudged it on my lips "

" Why will he get jealous?! " but looking at akash's face no nonsense face she asked "Did he get je... Jealous?? " Anika asked fidgeting with her fingers.

" He was burning like fire!!  Just the way I did!!"
" You know him from before don't you?? "

" Same college. And listen I hate shivaay! And I cannot tolerate him even for a minute so I shooed him away. Idiot doesn't let me spend time with my childhood friend. So yeah End of story "

" Possessive much bro? "
" Of course I love you ani, like a brother but that shivaay!  He is a prick!! "

"AK do you really think I didn't notice your behavior towards him? I know you hate shivaay. But why? "

" You better ask him ani. I just know one thing and that is I came here to surprise you and spend time with you before I get married. Shivaay's presence or absence doesn't matter " Akash said in a monotone voice before getting up to leave. He was going away when he suddenly stopped and asked
" Is it that prominent and strong on my face?"

" What? "

" The fact that I hate him "

"Yes but that's the truth ain't it??  You hate him. "

" I do ha..hate him, it's just that I dont want people to know about it "

" Why?? "

" Because Anika there was a time he was my best friend and I cannot see you or other people think bad of him because of our fight "

" That means he wasn't the wrong one in the fight right??  You...were..? " Anika slowly asked treading on a fine line of trust.

" We both were!  No He was!!  Trust me Anika you don't want to know what he did!! " akash said burying his head in his palms.

"  AK I don't know what happened between you two but I know you from childhood and shivaay is like my best friend. I can't see you two fighting with each other. Can't you two like patch up? " Anika calmly asked fearing for the answer.

" Not happening " saying akash got up angrily and left, closing his door with a bang.

Anika walked towards her room like a zombie still in thoughts of what akash said when her phone beeped.

" sorry babe going to ditch the girls night tonight!!  Going with Om for a night safari *wink*"

  This girl ! At times she wondered what was she made up of. Silly old gauri! thought Anika.

She entered the room and directly plopped herself on the bed snuggling in the blankets.
She was about to sleep when a loud screeching noise woke her up. The windows were shaking with the wind making it impossible to sleep peacefully. But what scared the wits out of her was a shadow of a huge bear outside her window.

Anika screamed and ran out of her room to the next room which was shivaay's. When shivaay opened the door he saw a bewildered looking Anika staring at him. The moment she saw him, she sprinted inside and closed the door.

" Desperate move Anika!! " shivaay grinned but it was soon replaced with shock as Anika ran and hugged him tightly.

" You are fine right?? " Anika meekly asked.

" Yes but I think you need to be asked that. What happened Anika? " 
shivaay asked gently running his hand on her back calming her.

" There was a bear outside our windows. He could have broken into the room and eaten you!! "

" So you came to save me? "

" Ye... Yeah of course!! " Anika said straightening herself.

" OK then I am safe!  You can go now " shivaay said hiding his smirk.

" Aise kaise?? What if he comes again? I think it's better I stay here and protect you! " Anika said with a smile.

" OK I could use that!  But where are you going to sleep?? "

" On the bed duffer!! " Anika said jumping on the bed.

" With me??!  Haww Anika!! " shivaay exclaimed loudly.

" Who said with you?  You gotta sleep on the couch! "

" Hey why should I??  My room, My bed .."

" And your poor best friend who has lack of sleep. Won't you let me sleep " completed Anika making a puppy face.

" Fine you win " shivaay cribbed sleeping on the couch.
Anika spread her hands and was sleeping like a starfish on the bed when her hands landed on something wiggly. Slowly opening her eyes she saw it was a cockroach. She internally screamed before getting up. She quickly looked at shivaay who was sleeping peacefully.

Shivaay woke up in the morning feeling a strong weight on his arms. Someone lighter than rudra was snuggled into him burying their face into his neck. He slowly opened his eyes to see a snoring Anika cuddling to him, her breaths making his neck warm. Warm sunshine shone on her face making her look like a pristine angel.

Looking at her shivaay wondered what would it be to wake up every morning like this. Looking at her calm face and giving her a peck on her forehead. Making out, Shopping, going on dates, drives and what if they had a child. A cute daughter just like her. He saw their future together.

     Shivaay's train of thoughts was broken by a loud yawn of Anika who started to flutter her eyes open. She looked at him like a lost koala bear wanting him to lead her.
Shivaay's eyes trailed from her brown eyes to her small nose to her lips and stopped there. He inched closer to her while Anika inched closer too.
 
Anika clutched his hair trying to stabilize the million butterflies flying in her belly, trying to normalize the intense tension between them but did she know this action only increased it. His ruffled hair, morning raspy breaths made it all the more difficult for her to avoid this spark between them.

Both of them looked at each other like lost boats trying to reach a shore. Shivaay took the leap of faith and closed the gap between them, kissing Anika softly yet with a force of desire. Anika was stumped, mind boggled to even move. Probably this was called robbing one from his senses. Anika slowly but steadily responded back with the same force of desire. She trailed her hands on his neck while he played with her hair. They tore apart and shivaay's erratic beating heart screamed only one thing ' You love her idiot!!! ' Yes he loved her but instead of saying that all he could say was

" Good morning and thanks for making it good " in his natural morning voice grinning like a Cheshire cat.

" I.. Uh.. Welcome " Anika stuttered still trying to catch her breath. She was feeling like her heart was going to explode and shower confetti around. She was feeling like she was in heaven dancing with shivaay on the clouds.
She was robbed. Before she could say any of it a hard knock on the door startled her.
 
She quickly got up, and gestured shivaay that she will attend the door. Shivaay started jumping the moment Anika went out of sight. He was going crazy!!  But his happiness lasted short as he heard AK's voice. What was he doing here??

Shivaay went to see when Anika pulled AK in the room. Both the boys were glaring at each other when they heard the door shut. They looked behind to see no Anika and a closed door.

" Anika open the door!! " AK screamed.

" Ani open the door please!! " shivaay pleaded.

" Not until you two patch up!!  See you two for lunch!! " Anika merrily said before going.

" Impossible!! " both screamed at each other before turning to opposite sides.
