Wednesday.
As usual, my mom and dad came home late so Martinus and I had to take care of our younger sister, Emma. Well Martinus did the most part of the job due to the fact I've never been good with children, not even with a 11 year old. I'm not good at anything, just sleeping and not being a well behaved kid according to what my parents say.Martinus, on the other hand has always been the role model kid every parent wishes for : brilliant student, great brother and pretty talented.
He has always gotten all the attention from mom and dad.Being the black sheep of the Gunnarsen legacy never made me had close ties with both my twin and sister.
The only thing that kept and keeps me connected to Martinus is music. Performing helps me forget about what's happening around me and when singing, I feel like I can be my true self not worrying with what others think about me.-
I was in my room with my earphones plugged in my mp3 rock playlist when mom knocked on the door and entered crying.
Marcus: hm.. what's.. what's wrong?
Mom:it's your grandfather.. he had a car accident and now he's at the hospital -she answered with her voice breaking down
Marcus: I don't really know what to say.. I'm so sorry.. - I hugged her
Mom: tomorrow morning we're visiting him ok?
Marcus:hum.. yeah..
Mom: now get some sleep, good night sweetheart - my mom said wiping the tears falling from her eyes and kissed my forehead.
/The next morning/
The alarm rang, 11 am..Time to get ready and visit grandpa.
To be honest, I was not thinking of visiting my grandfather because first I can't really handle with suffering and also my relationship with him was not the best. We've never been that close, as martinus and grandpa.I took a quick shower and got dressed. I could hear my mom shouting my name and telling me to hurry.
Without worries, I plugged my earphones and grabbed my phone leading downstairs.
The hallway was now silent and as I thought my family had already left. Not surprised at all.
One way or another I had to meet them at the hospital, so I chose a random skateboard from our basement and rode full speed toward the establishment.Later that morning I finally arrived and looked up for the first floor of the building.
The elevator opened in the floor I was searching for so I opened a bedroom's door, entering.Marcus:oh.. Ups.. wrong room - I apologized to a pale teenage girl who was laying in an hospital bed, facing me in a curious way.
