Love The Way You Lie

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn

But that's alright because I like the way it hurts.

Just gonna stand there and hear me cry

But that's alright because I love the way you lie.

"Let me go!" you screamed, struggling to pull your wrist away from his iron grip.

"Can you just stop and listen for once in your life?! Goddammit (f/n)!" he yells in response, tightening his grasp on your thin wrist to the point where you felt like it would snap.

"No! Just let go of me! You're hurting me, Levi!" You half-whimpered in your shout, which only seemed to piss him off even more.

"Well maybe if you stopped struggling and just heard me out, then I wouldn't have to be so fucking harsh!" he spat, yanking you closer to him by your aching wrist, still held tight in his fist.

Your teeth groped at your bottom lip, biting down hard to keep from raising your voice any louder. You knew when you were outdone. But instead of submitting to his request like you always did, your no-longer-sparkling (e/c) orbs narrowed to match his own steely grey ones, dull and cold. It took everything in you to stare him straight in the face, keeping your eyes locked on his, and take a slow breath to calm your raging nerves. This must have caught him off guard because you felt the iron grasp melt away as his hand softened against your bruised skin. With one swift tug of your arm, you opened your mouth to speak.

"I'm leaving you," you stated simply, coldly, and full of resentment. You were tired of his lies that kept you running in circles over and over again. This time you were serious; he wasn't going to sweet talk you out of this decision. As if he could; with the way he's been lately, everything out of his mouth has been daggers plunged deeper into your damaged heart.

"No, you're not."

You were taken aback by his reaction. So calm. So straightforward. He wasn't begging for you to stay or seducing you with tempting words of love and affection that melted your insides. Instead, his eyes glossed over and Levi was gone. The steel shine that you were so used to was now a murky pool of nothingness. The look he gave scared you, to be completely honest. It was a look that you'd never seen before, especially not from your boyfriend of four years.

"Excuse me?" you asked, an eyebrow raised in interest. "How are you going to tell me--"

BAM

No time to process. No time to dodge. In a matter of milliseconds, your back slammed against the hardwood floor of the apartment you both shared. Pain overtook your jaw, a few sore spots on your teeth as well as your cheekbone. Blood seeped from the vacant spot in your mouth where a molar used to fit, but which was now on the floor beside you. Salty tears dripped down your cheek, swollen and reddened, as you looked up to meet the piercing gaze of your attacker.

You wondered how things got this way. How the once so cool and quiet, yet caring Levi Ackerman turned out to be so cruel. You thought back, remembering the days that you first met. His stoic demeanor began to fade away as the two of you spent more time together. Every day after work, he would stop by your place that you occupied at the time. He always claimed it to be "on the way" no matter how many times you pointed out the fact that he lived in the complete opposite side of town. Of course, you didn't mind; it was incredibly sweet of him and it was these small actions that drew you to him.
