Eve got home late. She had to finish her work before leaving. As she walked in,she saw candles on the floor. She smiled. That was Amy's way of saying sorry. How romantic of her. Since college, anytime Amy does something wrong, instead of apologizing, she lits candles. At first,it freaked her out but she later got used to it.
"Amy? Come out" Eve said smiling.
"Am sorry about this morning Eve,I know you were right,I was just hurt. You know what,I followed my head and broke up with him. I am really sorry" Amy said as she walked up to Eve and hugged her. Eve hugged back and smiled.
"I am so happy for you Amy. At last you did what is right. It okay. So can you just take these candles away cos I am not scraping candle wax off the floor with you"
Amy did as she was told. She picked up the candles and followed Eve to the kitchen. She sat on the stool near the refrigerator and watched every of Eve's moves. She waited patiently for Eve to say something but her friend seemed pretty lost.
"So your boyfriend is your boss?" Amy said sarcastically. Eve gave her a blank look and Amy smiled.
"It unbelievable, Aidan Williams is your boss,like you work for him,your classmate?" Amy said
"I know right,I guess I didn't do my research well." Eve said "I was shocked at first but what really surprises me is that he doesn't know me" She continued " it kinda funny but here I am,at least,it a dream job" Eve comforted herself.
"Working as a PA is a dream job?" Amy laughed.
"Silly,you know what I mean. Working at a big company,been the boss of my own,but you know,it all starts from somewhere" Eve said as she took out her pasta from the microwave.
Amy stared at Eve and felt a sudden rush of guilt and pity for her friend. She remembered the time they were in college and Eve told their other friends that she and Aidan had a long distance relationship. When the pressure of getting more of Aidan became overbearing for her,she lied to them that they broke up. Only her knew the truth,even till now. Amy thought that she at least has to do something to help her friend's love life.
