Brock's POV:

"Sickening!!!" Plastique chimed as I stepped out from behind the door. "You look so hot..." She acted all dazed and fanned herself. I laughed and brushed the almost unnoticeable creases out of my shirt.

"You think he'll like it?" Plastique raised one eyebrow and gave me an are you for real face.

"Henney, I'm sure he likes you anyway bitch, now go get that Vanjie D" I chuckled and shrugged.

"Thanks Plastique." I picked up my keys off of the side and tossed them in the air. "Guess I should go pick him up then." Plastique nodded and ushered me out of the door excitedly.

"Text me how it goes!" She winked as I stepped outside. I turned around and walked down the hall to the car park. It was a fairly impressive car as it stood, a jaguar XF in 'Corris Grey'. But I'd spent the afternoon fixing it up with some nice features. I'd made my own drinks cooler and set it up in the well between the seats, I placed a bottle of moderately cheap presse in it for the journey to the restaurant. Jose had a champagne fluke in his cup holder. It wasn't something I'd done to be over the top and impressive, it was more of a corny joke. We'd spoken once about how some people can look completely silly when they try to be romantic. I figured, I was one of those people from the hints he'd been dropping in the conversation. So I was going to embarrass him entirely on the way there. I only hope that he would appreciate the comedy of it and that it wouldn't put him off.

I lowered myself into the seat, put the keys in the ignition and started the car. I took one deep breath and pulled away. I was hardly in the car for thirty seconds before I was at the bottom of our block. I stepped out and pressed the buzzer for our dorm.

"Hello?" Jose's voice crackled over the old sound system.

"Are you ready?" I asked opening the passenger door.

"Yeah I'll be there now." The speaker shut off abruptly with a sharp buzz. I took that moment to quickly check over the car and pour him a glass of the presse. When I turned around he was just walking out of the glass door. He wore a tight fitting white dress shirt, the top few buttons were undone, exposing his tattoo. He'd paired it with black ripped jeans. I just gazed at him and his bright smile for a second before gesturing to the car.

"I got you a glass of wine you highness" I laughed pointing at the presse. He chuckled and playfully shoved my shoulder.

"You idiot." He laughed and sat down taking a sip before placing it back in the holder. I stepped around the car and sat back in the drivers seat while he plugged in his seatbelt. I did the same and started the engine.

We pulled out of the courtyard and onto the quiet main road. The sun was just about to start setting. I'd booked the reservation for 9:30pm so we would be just on time when we got there. And fortunately for us the gift card would cover the cost of the meal, since our weekly allowances never would have. I had mixed feelings about how this was going to go. I know we'd arranged it to try and see if we could get back to where we were before, but I also didn't want to put too much pressure on Jose, I didn't want to push him away again. I drove in silence for the first couple of minutes, focusing on the road and the setting sun. But eventually Jose spoke up.

"I wonder what the menu's like." I felt really disappointed in myself, he was making small talk. It was already going terribly.

"I don't know..." I responded, trying to find a way to change the topic. "Have you heard from your family recently?" I blurted, not really knowing where it came from or whether it had been a good thing to say or not.

He nodded happily. "I've been speaking a lot to my sister, Kiara. She's doing really well at school right now, she wants to go for an art major in college next year. I'm so proud of her." He said, voice ringing with joy as he spoke about her. I smiled and glanced over at him, his face was lit up.

"It sounds like creativity runs in the family then, how old is she?" I asked politely.

"She's not long turned seventeen, and honestly she is one of the most talented people I know when it comes to drawing" I nodded and turned into the private lane for the restaurant, we wouldn't be that long now.

"I wonder if I'll get to meet her one day." I said casually, Jose's eyes lit up.

"She absolutely loves you, You don't know how happy she would be-" He cut himself off and slightly slumped back down into the seat. "Sorry"

"What are you sorry for? It's ok to be happy." I said reaching my hand over and tousling his hair. He waved his arms about, laughing trying to push me away.

"Alright." He pouted "I'm sure we can arrange something when this is over." He added. I grinned as we pulled into a parking space.
