Each smile is different, the meaning behind them varies with each tug of the lips, they come in all shapes and sizes, everyone of them tinged with emotions that aren't as trust worthy as those who may think.

And those fake smiles are more common then people might suggest, a facade of happiness to hide the fear and sadness that has erupted over their head like a bad thunderstorm.

A smile is also a message, from one body to another, a silent conversation that holds no words only secret understanding between those who are let in.

But her smile held many meanings, not a single vampire in that room could pinpoint a certain one as she strode past, no eye contact was made but it didn't take enhanced sight to see the far away look in her distant eyes.

The southern blonde trailed behind Ivonna, nodding to the family with a barely noticeable grimace plastered on his pale lips, anxiety crushed into him like waves as much as he tried to send pools of calmness back at her.

With every step she could feel the intense stares, but she was not going to crush under their pressure, she had made it halfway up the wooden stairs before pausing.

Jasper feeling the hesitation grabbed her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Cocking her had to the side, weighing her options as of what to do in this situation, it was quickly decided that she couldn't turn back now.

Spinning on her heels she came face to face with her family but only one had her focus. Edward was in front, mouth opening ready to say something but he already knew he didn't need to repeat what jasper had already said, nor did he need to indulge further into her mind to know that she regretted her decision but was no way going to show it.

"I'm sorry." Ivonna took a unnecessary breath, filling the silent room, her eyes fell into slits as a smirk took over her features,"Though Esme always taught us not to lie, so you did sort of deserve it."

Before he could reply or Carlisle to lecture her she vamped up the rest of the stairs and into the room at the far end of the top floor, arms resting on the doorway squeezing her eyes shut. Her body followed her feet to the balcony door, inhaling the nature that blew around her.

Hands were quick to rest on her shoulders as the figure pulled her closer from behind, embracing her small frame in his own, her head tilting back to the crook of her neck, his cold lips placing a small kiss on the nose, watching it scrunch up out of instinct.

"You're okay, we're all okay." His words swept through  her mind, planting the idea in her head that they were, but nothing lasts forever and Ivonna has the feeling forever might be sooner then the rest might think.

"For now."

"Well when that time comes I'm going to sweep you off your feet-" Wrapping his arms round her small waist, he nuzzled his face in her shoulder, prepping it with kisses as he spun her around,  "-and were going ride into the sunset darling."

A giggle left her lips, turning to face him as her hands hooked around the back of his head, pulling gently on his hair to connect their lips,
"Im counting on it cowboy."

"God you two are disgustingly cute."

Both their heads wiped round to face their blonde sister who adorned a playful scowl, though met with the blank looks she averted her gaze to Ivonna, nodding her towards the woods behind her.

Mumbling a quick goodbye to her mate and a peck on his cheek, she jumped from the balcony, knowing Rosalie was right behind. They both knew the destination they were travelling to, a small open area not too far off the edge of town but still secluded where no walkers will pass by.

With their speed it only took minutes but it was the heavy silence that made it feel longer. The darker blonde was perched on a tree while the other stood in the greening. Before any words escaped their lips, Rosalie burst out with hearty laughter, in any case a human would be in hysterics with tears streaming down their face, but being a vampire cane with differences  so she opted for throwing her head back as the angelic sounds escaped her.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for someone to do that!"

Ivonna ever so gracefully leaped down, a grin taking over the regret from earlier- excitement and joy clouding her to see her sister so happy for once. And that smile was enough to set Rosalie off again as she sped forward wrapping her in a hug, which as much as it was unusable (that being she's not such a fan of contact) was cherish able, something that always brought the adopted sisters closer.

"Because it's time he learns that what he does doesn't just effect him but our family too, for him to just feel what it's like to lose not be told. I am thankful for that."

Trying to keep the lighthearted mood, Ivonna winked and the vampire in front of her,
"Well who would I be if I didn't stick up for our  family and my favourite sister." Her feet took steps back before spinning around and walking off at a human pace, "Though Alice didn't seem that affected by it."

"Oh please if that is your idea of funny then Alice might just replace you in this situation."

Moments like this is something they both craved for, a conversation that held no boundaries and no overhearing ears. And maybe to everyone they were just adopted sisters but to them they were something more, something more then sisters, an unlikely friendship which started of rocky turned to a bond which could never be broken- glued together with secrets and trust.
