I put on a light green beanie, a pair of light skinnies, and picked out my Beatles shirt that I matched with some combat boots. Mom said she would drive me to my school to say goodbye to everyone.

I followed my mother into the office where she informed everyone that I was transferring. Once that was done I went to find Maddy.

“Mads,” I said lightly.

“Yes,” she replied.

“I have to tell you something.”

“I’m listening.”

“I’m moving to Europe.” Her eyes widened and a frown came to her face.

“You bitch,” she whispered.

“What?” I asked.

“You’re going to leave me here alone while you go meet hot British boys.” I laughed that’s Maddy for you.

“I’m going to miss you Mads.”

“I’m going to miss you too Jay,” she said her voice quavering. I walked out because I am completely terrible at goodbyes.

I went to find the boys but I was also secretly looking for Wayne too.

Saying goodbye to the boys was hard, but it was funny when one of the boys said I was welcome to have tickets to one of his games when he makes it to the NHL.

Walking out of the school I was disappointed that I didn’t see Wayne. Walking out of the school was sad because I knew I wouldn’t be coming back for a long time if ever. Driving to the airport was depressing to say the least. “Is there anything you guys want to do before you leave?” Mom asked.

“Go to Timmies,” Allen and I yelled at the exact same time. Mom laughed and drove to the nearest Tim Hortons. After stacking up on jelly doughnuts it was time to go to the airport.

“No smoking, doing drugs, phone me at least once a week, and text me when you get there.” Mom said as we made our way towards security. “I love you guys, and have fun at school.”

“Love you too,” Allen and I replied. Mom pulled us in for a group hug.

“Bye guys I’ll see you soon, and have fun.”

Allen and I went through security with no problems, at the end we stood and waved at our mom with tears in our eyes. We walked to our gate after buying lemonades and M&Ms, because they are the best foods for planes ever.

On the plane I sat beside Allen. The flight so far was uneventful; all I had been doing was watching movies and eating. Looking out the window I saw that ground was appearing underneath the plane, so I jabbed Al in the side with my elbow.
