Chapter 1 - The Beginning

"Hey Lucas" My girlfriend Jenny says walking towards me as we head inside our school. I grab her hand and smile.

"Hey" I murmur looking around.

"Babe, look at me" She says as she stop walking, I glance at her as I stop walking.

"Yeah what's up?" I murmur still looking around. She sighs and grabs my face and makes me look at her harshly.

"Look at me" she says pouting softly "You've been acting weird" she says huffing.

"Sorry.." I murmur staring at her.

"Are you okay?" She asks letting go of my face and hugging me, her arms around my neck. I hesitantly put my arms around her waist.

"Yeah, I'm fine" I say with a small smile.

"Good, because the Halloween Carnival is in two weeks and we have to find the perfect costumes" she says giggling, "Okay? I'll see you after class"

I nodded as she walks away, I let out a sigh and slump my shoulders. What is wrong with me? Well I know what is wrong with me..

"Excuse me" I turn around and see Caleb Brooks standing there "We need to talk"

"Maybe later, I'm going to be late for -"

"No, now" he growls, instantly taking me back into a flashback of summer.

"Lucas, Caleb is here" My mom calls out.

"Coming!" I chirp. Quickly I rush down stairs. It's only the beginning of summer and we've already have had five dates. Finally I get down stairs and I see him.

"Hey" I say smiling shyly.

"Hey" He says unamused. I frown.

"What's up?" I asks quietly.

"Look, I know we've only been ok two dates but still, I think we shouldn't see each other anymore. I'm just not gay, especially for you" He says shrugging.

"Wh-what?" I asks frowning.

"Yeah, I thought I would try, but I feel nothing" He says shrugging again.

"What do you mean you feel nothing?!" I asks loudly.

"Nothing, I'll see you later"  He murmurs leaving, slamming the door behind him.

"No Caleb" I murmur. No, I'm not scared of him like I use to be.

"Yes, now." He says grabbing my hand and pulling me to the janitors closet. I sigh letting him. He shoved me inside. He shuts the door behind him and stares down at me, our body close, too close for comfort.

"Lucas.." he breaths out, as if he was breathless.

"What?" I snap at him.

"I miss you.." he whispers into my ear, his hot breath hitting my ear.

"W-Well too late" I murmur shakily.

"Oh? So you wouldn't drop that girlfriend of yours for me?" He asks quietly, planting soft kisses on my neck. My legs start to shake.

"I wo-wouldn't and I won't" I murmur, almost not even autoable.

"Oh?" He says kissing behind my ear, "You sure about that?"

"Y-yes, I am!" I hiss shoving him away, tears in my eyes, "I'm not going to be used by you again!"

"Lucas!" He calls out as I leave the janitors closet as the bell rings. I don't feel like going to class, however, it's my only escape from him.

Soon the end of the day comes. The day was pretty boring, other then what happened in the janitors closet. I sigh walking out of my last class. I head down towards my car. On the way of walking Jenny walks up to me and grabs my hand.

"Hey babe" she says kissing my cheek

"Hey.." I murmur intertwining our fingers.

"What's wrong?" She asks looking at me.

"Oh, nothing, just thinking" I mumble sighing.

"If it cheers you up, I know what we can go as for the Halloween Carnival" she chirps. Oh yay.

"Really, what?" I ask trying to be excited.

"Romeo and Juliet!" She says happily.

"You have to be-" I cut myself off, and smile awkwardly, "Anything you want, love"

"I want" she says smiling widely.

"Okay, then that's what we will do" I murmur spotting Caleb, quickly I look away back at Jenny.

"Well I'll see you later babe!" She says brightly, kissing my cheek as she walks away towards her friends. With a sigh, I walk to my car and get in. I turn on some music and then head home.

I pull up, seeing a car there. Frowning I get out and lock the doors and head inside.

"Mom I'm home" I call out.

"Oh honey, guess who's here!" She chirps happily. I sigh and walk towards the dinning room and kitchen. That's when I hear his voice.

"Thank you again Ms. Voice for letting me in" Caleb says chuckling deeply.

"Of course honey!" She chirps, damnit, I knew she liked him as my boyfriend but seriously?! We broke up!

Quietly, I turn around and head towards the front door. Before I got there though I heard my mom clear her throat behind me.

"Lucas Ellie Voice! We have a guest over!" She hisses angrily, with a sigh I turn around.

"Yeah, the guy who broke my heart mother" I hiss just as angrily.

"He wants to apologize" she says crossing her arms over her chest.

"Well he isn't forgiven" he tell her crossing my arms over my chest.

"Don't give me attitude! Now march in there and handle your problems!" She growls.

"No" I hiss, and with that I take my leave.
