I stumbled back onto my feet; I couldn't believe my clumsiness has embarrassed me once more. In the corner of my eye, I could see my mum shaking her head in dismay as I straightened my outfit and started to fix my hair.
"Sorry about Amber and her clumsy feet," she said as she snapped her head in my direction. Believe me, it wasn't too subtle "anyway, Amber I would like you to meet our new neighbours," she said as she directed them into the living room. I never really spend much time downstairs mostly because I am busy upstairs in my room or playing around with my music. Upstairs is where I spend my time making, my magical art. Oh, I forgot to say I am sort of into DJ work. I call myself 'Summer Breeze', cool I know. The only other places, you would find me is downstairs in either the kitchen or sitting in my chair. It is the grey chair which sat next to the window overlooking the large flower garden outside, I could see the whole garden from my chair.
I slowly walked over to it and sat down whilst watching them just as slow as I did, sit down. It was strange to have visitors and although it was nice to have visitors I don't like talking. Defiently to strangers, I have just met. I know what you are thinking how do you get to know others without talking and that is the problem I don't get the know others, I have no friends.
After introductions, mum said that 'I should get to know, their son.' She didn't even know his name; I didn't even know his name. It was awkward I must tell you, I didn't know what to say to him, and he didn't know how to respond.
"Hey, do you wanna come upstairs to my room?" I asked politely and with a simple nod he answered with "sure, I would love to," and only seconds later he spoke once more, "I am Harvey by the way."
We ended up hanging out for hours until, whilst our parents talked downstairs. Harvey is nice but there is something about him that is so curious, I just can't put my finger on it.
"So, do you know what school you are going to?" he said trying to break the awkward silence.
"Forest Hill, although for some reason I am not looking forward to it." We both broke out in laughter, his smile destroyed me. I didn't even notice I was staring until a wave of his hand infront of my face made me snap out of my little daydream.
I wanted to know more about him, but my stupid social anxiety got once more in the way.
