TW: talks of alcohol and sexual harassment/assault
"I'm drunk as fuuuuuck" was all Jade could think as she stumbled her way around the party. She kinda shrugged to herself before taking another chug of her mixed drink. She tripped over her own feet as she weaves through the crowd of people, only to be caught by an extremely muscular guy.
"Thanks" she giggled before getting cut off by his lips on hers. She soon was pushed up against the wall, being aggressively kissed. "Heygetoff"
"Come on, baby, there's a room upstairs with our names on it, let's go." He pulled her towards the stairs, Jade being too drunk to fight back, let him.
"Mike, you better not be leading a very drunk girl upstairs right now like I think you are." A dark haired boy in thin framed glasses stepped in front of them with a glaring look on his face.
"Move it Carter, I saw her first. Claim your own drunk bitch man." The blonde muscular man, who Jade now knew was Mike, pulled her in closer and started kissing her face. She pulled back in disgust and looked at him.
"I maybe am drunken but I am not and bitch." Jade tried really hard to get the sentence out before starting to giggle again. She tapped her finger to his nose, "I don't think I know you." Carter sighed before shoving Mike slightly to the side, putting Jade behind him rather protectively.
"Get lost Mike. Coach will hear about this tomorrow so you better start getting sober now so you're not hungover when you're running laps." Carter turned back around to see Jade starting to wander off. He sighed again before following her outside. "Hey what's your name?"
"Jade Hawkins" he watched her take another big gulp of her drink before delicately taking it out of her hands, handing it to some jock walking by. "MY DRINK!!!" she tried to push past Carter to chase after it but he held her back.
"Jade, where do you live, I think I should take you home. Who did you come with?" She thought for a minute before telling him she didn't know the answer to either question. He went to ask her another question but before he could a loud voice interrupted."COPS. EVERYBODY GET THE FUCK OUT." Panic arose throughout the entire frat house as girls grabbed onto each other and boys shoved bottles into their pockets before taking off. Carter grabbed hold of drunk Jade, feeling a responsibility to keep tabs on her. Since the two of them were already outside, Carter quickly led Jade down the porch stairs, watching her stumble all the way down. At this rate, she was going to get both of them caught so he told her to hop onto his back. She did as she was told and he took off toward his car as fast as he could while supporting an entire person. He grabbed his keys from his pocket and unlocked his car, gently setting Jade in the passenger seat. He ran around to the driver's side, starting the car.
"HEY. You can't drive!!!! Driving and drinking is bad." Jade tried her hardest to think of words but now that she was sitting she realized just how drunk, and tired, she was.
"I didn't have anything to drink Jade, I had just gotten there when Mike started making out with you." He pulled out of his parking spot as he spoke, heading for a main road. "Where do you live Jade? Where should I take you?" He looked over to her after a minute of silence to see her knocked out, no hope of waking up anytime soon. Carter sighed for the third time in the last five minutes before making a decision to drive to his apartment. He carried the girl inside, which was harder than it seemed considering he lived on the fifth floor. It would be fine if Joe from the third floor didn't break the elevator a week ago.By the time they reached his apartment, Carter was more exhausted than he had been in a while. He kicked on the door to get his roommate to open it, he wasn't trying to figure out how to unlock it while holding somebody.
"Dude what the fuck. Did you seriously forget your keys? It's 3:30- oh um okay?" His roommate, Alana ripped open the door, clearly confused by the sight. "I thought we were going to stop bringing home strays Carter."
"Shut it Alana, especially because I'm pretty sure you have one of your own in your room." She scowled slightly before turning around to head back to her own room. Carter opened the door to his room, flipping his comforter off the bed enough to slide Jade into his bed. He took the trash bag out of his bedside trash can, replacing it with a new bag, and setting it beside the bed in case the alcohol decided to disagree with her in the middle of the night. He walked to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water and aspirin for when she woke up in the morning. On his way back to the bedroom he heard a constant buzzing coming from her purse that he had Alana take when she opened the door. Jade's phone was ringing, but as soon as Carter picked it up, it stopped buzzing. Her lock screen showed "6 Missed Calls" and "22 iMessages" from a girl named Natalia. He sat with the phone for a couple seconds waiting for it to ring again, which didn't take very long.As soon as the phone started buzzing with a call, Carter answered. "JADE!!! I heard about the party being busted!! Are you okay? Are you in jail? Is that why you didn't answer?" A feminine voice laced with anxiety shrieked on the other line. "Natalia?" Carter started, trusting the name on the phone, "My name is Carter Barnes, I know this is going to seem super sketchy, but-" "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU AND WHY DO YOU HAVE JADE'S PHONE?" Natalia quickly interrupted, making Carter's sigh pattern continue. "If you would just let me continue, I will be more than happy to explain everything." Which is exactly what he did, telling Jade's best friend what happened from start to finish. It was Natalia's time to sigh and continue, "The one weekend I go out of town, she manages to get herself in trouble. Now I'm going to trust that you're telling the truth Carter but that's only because I know your roommate Alana. But don't get me wrong, touch one singular hair on that precious angel's head and you will find yourself with one less appendage. Take care of her and please keep me updated on how she is doing." She rattled off her phone number so Carter could text her from his phone before saying goodbye. Carter stumbled to the couch, ready to crash for the night. He was exhausted after a night full of events. He was barely able to set an alarm on his phone before his eyes closed for the night.
