The news of my brothers death did not come as a surprise to me. He was always reckless but I freaked out is when I was told since my brother had passed I had to become the towns champion.
The champion is known to be a fearless hero I don't know what they saw in me. I just a scrawny little 13 year old my older brother was 22 when he was chosen. I had no chance I would be squashed. If I refused I would be exiled from the village for ever so I had no choice.
So I decided to sleep to prepare for the big ceremony tomorrow. Lucky me.
In the night all think was ̈It's your destiny accept it.¨ or ̈You've prepared your whole life for this.¨ but the scary thing is I haven't. All I've done is do chores at home but according to my dad its in my blood. Sometimes I wish mom was still here but she got a spear run through her back all because my dad was a horrible champion. I just hope I don't follow in his footsteps.
I woke with a start because I saw something in my dream. It was humanoid and was on its knees. I shook it off and went back to a restless sleep.
