"One year ago, my family and I moved to Riverdale, a little town in the USA and this one year changed everything. I didn't really know why we left our homecountry Germany but I thought it had something to do with my fathers new work. I guess he's doing something with maple sirup? I don't know."

"Emma, take your clothes upstairs, please", my mother said. "Müssen wir jetzt wirklich immer in Englisch reden, Mutter?" She ignored me. I rolled my eyes: "Do we really have to speak in English all the time, mom?" "Of course, we have to", she answered while she was unpacking our dishes, "You've got to speak fluently on your first day on Riverdale High." "I know, mom, but I don't think speaking English at home is helpful. I mean, your and Dad's English isn't that good," I said. "Maybe, you're right. You should go and find some friends to improve your English skills." I didn't really want to go outside because I was still missing my friends and since it was night at Germany I couldn't even call them. "Probably you're right, mom", I smiled at her, "Maybe I'll meet some nice girls somewhere."

I closed the door behind me and decided to go to the city center. Maybe there was a bakery or something like that where I could spend the afternoon. While walking down the road I looked at my Snapchat account but none of my former friends was online. I sighed and put my cellphone back into my pocket.

In the city center I found a bistro called "Pop's". It looked a little outdated but since I could not find another I decided to go in. Inside the bistro were a lot of benches and tables and also a little bar. There weren't many Visitors this afternoon but I decided to sit down at a table next to a group on teenagers. Two Boys, and two Girls. One of the boys had shiny red hair and seemed to be very sporty, the other boy had dark hair and wore a had. I couldn't really look at the girls because in this moment two other girls came over to my table. "You must be new in Riverdale. My name is Cheryl Blossom and this is Tony", one of the girls said. She had Long red hair and wore red lipstick. I didn't know why but she did't seem to be very symphatetic. "Yes, I am new here. My Name is Emma and I am from Germany", I said trying not to speak too "german".
