A/N: Wasgood, its ya girl Chels. Unfortunately, I'm writing the chapters after Kanye (and if you've read her stuff... yk what I mean😭). But it's all good because I'm talented like that 😎. I'm the angsty writer type (and so is most of our writers) so there WILL BE PLENTY OF ANGST IN THIS BOOK. Also, if there's any new roadies reading this, I binged all of their videos so I WILL be using inside jokes and catch phrases. This chap is based on Sonny's first appearance in their vlogs. Enjoy :)

Jack's P.O.V.

We walk down the halls, side by side, laughing at the fact that he fell and I ended up falling on top of him.

"Aw mate, you looked terrified!" Brook exclaims. I shake my head and smile downcast. Did I look scared? I was confused, like a wave of foreign emotions surged through me. I don't know what I felt back there, but maybe I was scared. I shake my head again, getting the thoughts out of my mind. Whatever, maybe I'm just tired.

We head down the stairs, where we're met with Alex and Robbie. They're sat on the couch with laptops in their laps, a cup of tea in Robbie's hand.

"What are you guys up to?" I ask, taking a seat by the counter. Brook journeys to the fridge, grabbing a water bottle. (A/N: We don't know what the new house looks like so, for now, we're going to imagine) Robbie puts the mug down, not looking up at us.

"Not much, just doing a bit of editing," He answers. I nod and pull my phone out. From the corner of my eye, I could see him give Alex a mischievous look, but I brush it off and ignore it. Brook slams the fridge closed, a piece of watermelon in his hand. Suddenly, there's a loud shout.

"Boys!" A voice booms through the house. Brook and I make eye contact, realizing who's voice that is. Robbie and Alex make eye contact again, smiling at each other before putting their laptops to the side and standing up.

Hurriedly, we rush to the front door, Brook in front of me and the two behind me. Andy and Rye speed down the stairs, joining the four of us. The front door is cracked open a bit, light streaming into our new house.

Brook reaches the door first, opening it wider. We stop in our tracks when we see what lies behind our doorway.

Brooklyn's P.O.V.

Blair stands there with Ginger, their arms linked together. I stand there, bewildered. The boys all have the same expressions, all except Robbie and Alex, who are grinning at each other. A boy... No, a man and a couple lasses stand behind Ginger and Blair, hugging and crying as if they're parting. My eyes trail to the man.

He has a couple hats stacked on his head, a travel pillow around his neck, and a guitar bag on his back. He's wearing a pinkish-tan shirt, dark jeans, and old-fashioned black shoes. His back is turned to us whilst he hugs a girl, presumably his sister.

"Blair... what is this?" Jack asks, confusion painted across his face. The man finally turns to us, a smile on his face as Blair starts. "Boys, meet your new trialist, R-"

"Ryan?" Andy asks, stepping forward. Rye looks at him from behind.

"What?"

 "Not you."

"Then who-"

"Meet your new trialist, Ryan-"

"Sonny." The man says, cutting Blair off. His eyes gaze over all of us before landing on Andy. He smiles. "Surprise, Ands." He says, holding his arms out. Andy walks past Blair and lands in his embrace, their arms wrapping around each other.

"What's going on?" Rye mumbles under his breath. I take my eyes off of the two, thinking hard. This 'Sonny' dude looks oddly familiar. I know I've seen him somewhere before, I just can't put my finger on it. I take a bite of my watermelon, studying his face. Sonny and Andy detangle themselves from each other, and that's when it hit me. He turns to look at the rest of us.

"Hi everyone," He says, waving awkwardly. Rye shakes his head as to clear his thoughts before walking out the door past Blair. Jack and I follow behind him, the watermelon piece in my hand. I chow down, biting off the green bits as well.

"What's up mate? I'm Ryan," Rye says, pulling him into a side hug, patting his back. I look behind them to see Andy chatting with the lass, who has makeup running down her face from the tears. Jack introduces himself after Rye and I stand behind them, patiently waiting for my turn. I turn to Robbie and Alex, who are chatting with Blair and Ginger behind me.

"You two knew about this?" I ask, stuffing the rest of the watermelon in my mouth. "Yes Ma'am," Alex responds teasingly. I roll my eyes and turn back around just as Jack steps aside.

"Hey, I'm Brook," I say, smiling up at him. "Woah, your a short one," He jokes, letting out a chuckle. I shake my head and chuckle downcast. "I'm not the short one! Your the tree here, mate," I shout back, looking up at him. It was Sonny's turn to shake his head as we are left in a fit of laughter.

We calm down, smiling at each other. Wow, he really is a tree. Fluffy hair, a foot taller than me. I take a good look of his face, focusing on the details. He has black, curly hair, greenish-brown eyes, lines on his forehead, and a nose piercing. His ears are pierced too but the earrings aren't in place, and he has a tattoo on his collarbone. My smile falters and I find myself staring into his eyes as I realize he's doing the same. His eyes hold a mix of emotions. They radiate a strong urge of something I can't pinpoint, leaving me in a daze.

It feels like we've been standing there for ages once Andy calls us over to help get his luggage out of the car. My head flinches downwards, a mix of emotions stirring up inside of me. This foreign feeling bubbles in my stomach, leaving me confused. What was that? Why am I feeling this way? What's happening to me? Suddenly, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I flinch, looking up to see Jack in Sonny's place.

"Mate, are you alright?" He asks, a look of concern taking over his face. I look behind him to see Sonny already unloading the things from the car. I shake my head quickly as to clear the thoughts from my mind. "Yeah, I'm alright," I say. He nods before walking with me to the car.

--------------

We finish unloading the bags and instruments, bringing them into the house. I watch from the doorway as Sonny hugs the lasses goodbye, leaving the youngest one in tears again. He lets go of her, wiping a tear off of her face. "Don't cry, Lolly. We'll see each other soon," He says, pulling her in for one last hug. He lets go, waving back at her.

"Ya freak!" The girl says, getting into the car. He stops next to me at the doorway, watching the car drive off into the distance before entering the house.

"Woah, he mumbles under his breath, dropping the guitar bag off of his shoulder. His eyes scan the house excitingly, a small smile forming on his lips. I chuckle.

"I know right, that was my reaction when we first moved in" I say, walking past him with a suitcase in my hand. I motion him to follow me into the living room, where all the boys are already sat. I swing the suitcase onto the pile of luggage sat in the center of the room, dropping onto the couch next to Andy, who has a guitar in his lap.

"Alright, let's see what you've got," Andy says, fiddling with the capo in his hand. Sonny places the bags down gently, taking the stack of hats off of his head. "Shawn Mendes?" Andy asks, watching Sonny fluff up his hair. "Yeah," He replies. After a couple capo slides and chord changes, they settle on 'Mercy'.

The boys all watch as he starts to sing. I could sense the awkwardness radiating off of him in waves. He's tense, like he's uncomfortable. He avoids our eyes, looking at the wall, ceiling, picture frames, his feet, anything but us. He rocks himself back and forth on his feet, trying to ease the awkward tension.

And then he looks at me.

I didn't know if I should've ended it with "And then he looks at me" or keep going, but I'll just leave it to Jay to write Sonny's P.O.V.
