the guy from last night

Betty Cooper woke up with the sun shining in her eyes. It was the first day of senior year.

Betty gathered her hair into, what her friends called it, iconic ponytail. She put on her light pink striped shirt, tucked into her denim skirt. She grabbed her phone and backpack and headed downstairs, where her family was eating breakfast.
"Hey mom, hi dad." She said, picking up a apple from the fruit basket.
"Hey sweetie are you excited for your first day?" Alice said.
"Yep! I gotta go so I'm not late, bye"
"Bye sweetie" both of her parents said. Betty walked out the door. She took a deep breath before walking down the steps that led up to her house.

She walked into her first class sitting in the very front seat. She opened her book and started reading.
She heard the bell ring. Betty closed her book and but it back in her bag.
The teacher spoke, but Betty didn't listen, she tried but it was all boring. She rested her head in her hand and waited for the class be over already.

Betty sat in the cafeteria, even though it was nice outside her friends convinced her to sit in the cafeteria with them. She was the only one sitting there, she didn't know where everyone else was, probably getting their lunches, but she didn't care.

Betty sat in a booth at pops drinking her strawberry milkshake, the bell rang, signaling someone had just walked in, she hoped it was her best friend who was already 10 minutes late. Her ponytail whipped around as she turned her head. She sighed, turning her head again. She sipped more of her milkshake. Betty looked back up her eyes resting on the boy who sat at the back booth of pops writing on his computer. She looked at him a little longer studying him. He had a grey beanie, it sorta reminded her of a crown, how there where triangles on the side. The bell rang once again but she didn't look to see if was Kevin instead she kept looking at him, the mysterious boy in the gray beanie and leather jacket, with raven hair. Soon her vision from him was blocked off and she saw her friend. "Sorry I was late Betty"
"It's ok Kevin"

She saw him, at the table across from her. He wore the same jacket and beanie. She wondered why she had never seen him before. Was he new? She thought. She was so focused she didn't hear her friends calling her name.
"Hello? Earth to Betty!" Veronica said
"Oh hi sorry"
"Who were you staring at?" Kevin asked
"Nobody" Betty said quickly
"Are you sure about that?" Cheryl asked
"Ooo it's the guy from last night isn't it!"
"It's nobody!"
"Ooo Who is the guy from last night!"
"Nobody Cheryl!"
"He has to be some-" Veronica started before Archie interrupted her,
"Guys she clearly doesn't want to talk about it!"
"Fine but just so you know everyone he's over there" Kevin nodded his head to the front of him . Cheryl and Veronica's eyes went to the table that was behind them.
"Jughead Jones?" Cheryl questioned
"So that's his name." Betty mumbled.
"Betty he's a serpent! He's like a social outcast." Cheryl continued.
"She doesn't care Cheryl!" Veronica barged in. Betty looked over Veronica's shoulder and looked at him. He was eating his fries while reading a book. He looked up at her, their eyes interlocking. She
Looked away quickly, continuing to eat her apple.

The bell rang and Betty rushed out of the classroom and to her locker. As soon as she opened it she noticed a small appear fell out. She bent over and picked it up.
Saw you staring at me during lunch, kinda creepy.
