As I write, so many memories flood back into my mind. Sam seemed quite genuine, a little a hard to deal with at time, but all around genuine. He would make me laugh until I thought I was going to pee.
As time went on, Sam was more than encouraging of a relationship between Blake and me. That was nice considering how everyone else hated the idea.
Sam and I started talking more and getting closer. I started to learn his quirks and ticks, and more importantly parts of his dark side. His dark side didn't scare me because I had one too. He'd talk about awful, traffic things, but I'd brush it off. Sam would talk about killing mass amounts of people just because he had a bad day.
I mean, why would I think to take him seriously? People say things like that, granted they have to be kinda messed up, but they do.
Right?
One morning, I asked if Sam could come work with us (coworkers and me) because he made everything cheery and entertaining. Blake agreed to this. So with Blake, Blake's cousin Max, and Sam, I worked all day in that house. As expected, Sam made me laugh constantly. But every once in a while he'd say something that made me uncomfortable in a way I don't think I'll ever be able to describe. It was fine though, I still didn't take him seriously. He spoke of wanting to do awful things to people; wanting to kill them. I was naive, so I laughed it off.
time goes on....
