A week had passed and it was Friday night. This year Halloween fell on a Thursday, so Luke had his party the day after. I was just excited becuase my birthday was Sunday. Ashton had agreed to have matching costumes for Luke's party so I let him choose. Most people would think Batman and Poison Ivy or Mickey and Minnie. But not Ashton. Ashton threw it back to the middle school days. He wanted us to be Ash and Pikachu. I was fine with that because I could turn in into a cute idea and I wouldn’t have to wear an actual costume. I put on my yellow dress that I had picked out and it came to a little above my knees and was semi-tight. I put on a little bit of makeup and put two little red dots on my cheeks and put a headband on that I had made with ears on them. I slip on some yellow flats and start to walk down the stairs as the doorbell rings. I smile and open the door as Ashton stands there and his mouth drops.
“Keep your drool inside your mouth. I’m not that nice to look at.” I laugh and shut my door behind me
“You do look nice. Really nice.” He blushes
I wink and start walking to Luke’s house that is already blaring music. We both get to the door and I knock. Calum who is dressed like Captain America opens the door.
“Woah…I didn’t expect to see you two come together” he smirks at Ashton
I nudge Calum as I walk by him into the house. “It is nice to see you too.” I mumble
I look around and see Michael dressed as a ninja turtle and I see Luke in the kitchen so I head that way. He was Batman.
“Hey best friend!” I grin
He turns around “Oh hey!” His eyes scan my body as he looks at what I have on. “Pikachu? Clever. Where’s Ash?” he dies laughing
I feel Ashton come and hugged me from behind “I’m right here!”
This hug felt different than all the other times I have hugged Ashton these past few weeks. Yes this wasn’t a front hug but the way his arms were around me created a different feeling. It made me feel special. I could tell this was more than just a friend hug and I liked it.
After a fun night of games and dancing, people started leaving. It was a tradition that after all of Luke’s Halloween parties, we would spend the night and stay up all night watching scary movies. The guys go change out of their costumes and I realize that I didn’t bring a change of clothes.
“Hey Luke! I am going to run home real quick and grab some clothes.” I say
“Ohhh no. no. no. no.” Michael says
“You are going to wind up staying home and not come back. I am sure you can borrow some of our clothes.” Calum says sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.
“I brought an extra shirt and some sweatpants.” Ashton says
I smile and take his bag and walk down the hallway to the bathroom. I change and put my clothes in his bag. I open the door to walk back and he is standing there.
“Do they fit?”
“They are a little big, but it will work. Thanks!” I smile
He smiles and take his bag and we go to the bonus room where the other guys are. Michael and Calum are sitting on the couch and Luke is in a chair so I go sit on one end of the other couch. Ashton puts in some horror movie and gets a blanket and puts it around us and we start watching. The movie itself wasn’t that scary and so I just watched Michael and Calum throw popcorn everywhere because they were scared. Luke put in the next movie and it was scary. Every other minute I was burying my head into Ashton’s shoulder. During the movie, I feel him grab my hand and we intertwine fingers. I smile and by the time the movie was done, I was asleep.
