It was a stormy night, out in GreenCoast City. A police car was seen patrolling around the city. Two people, a boy and a girl, and a dog were inside. The humans were having a nice chat, while the girl continued driving on the highway, they were currently on.
"I hate the night shift, it's so boring. How long have we been on the road, Three hours?" The boy said, clearly bored, "Huston we have only been on patrol for thirty-five minutes. Be grateful nothing has happened, people could die during these missions, and that's a lot of pressure." The girl said, while picking up a cup from a cup holder, and taking a drink from it. "You should stop drinking coffee, and start focusing more on the road," The boy laughed, as he got a glare in return, from the girl.
"Huston I have a coffee addiction. I got it from my dad, at least I don't put a gallon of sugar in my so called 'black coffee' unlike someone. Geez you make it sound like I do that, but I'm not him, don't worry," Huston laughed.
The dog, who was sitting quietly in the back of the police car, started to bark. The girl glanced at the dog, but continued driving, "What's wrong Wolfie? You smell something?" Huston said, looking at the dog, who was now scratching at the door of the car. "Brianna pull over, the dog wants out. He might smell something, he is a dog after all," Brianna pulled the vehicle over in front of a jewelry store. The two got out, the boy opened the back door, and the dog pushed him out of the way. Instantly running down the road, "Shit, Wolfie come back!" Brianna yelled, "We need to chase after him, I can't lose him now. He is practically a son to me!" Brianna began running down the road, chasing after Wolfie. The dog was no longer in sight, so it would be almost impossible to find him. "Brianna wait! We need a plan, and she can't hear me, great," I face palmed, glancing around my surroundings. The jewelry store was still open. The lights inside were shining from the windows, and the door had a brown open sign on it. I felt a chill run through my spine. It was still raining heavily, Next to the jewelry store was a flower shop. It was still opened, which was unusual. No flower shop should be opened at this time, but I shrugged it off.
Suddenly a few gun shots, barks, and yelling could be heard. " Something was happening, and I needed to find Brianna, and Wolfie quick. Quickly I grabbed my pistol from my belt, and cautiously ran down the sidewalk. The yelling had died down, which worried me, but the barking, and gunshots continued. I kept running until I was sure I was close by.
I heard a voice, "You have the right to remain silent. If you do say anything, what you say can be used against you in a court of law," I recognize that voice, "Brianna, what happened, why are you arresting this man?" Brianna looked at me, her face looked angry. She had a deep fire burning in her eyes.
"This guy had drugs on him, and was gonna give them to a child. I overheard him mention that the child's father, sent the kid here. Also, this idiot tried to shoot me, and Wolfie.
Where is the kid, I'll go talk to it." Brianna pointed at some trash bins. A figure was knelt down behind a trash bin. It was shaking a lot, I realized it was the child. It was a girl, she wore some black ragged clothes. The girl had long brown hair, and cuts on her body.
She needed some medical attention. The child looked at me tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "Hey, its ok, I won't hurt you. I am here to protect you, my name is Huston. What is yours?" The girl blinked, her eyes were two different colors, her left eye amber, and her right eye green. She stood up carefully, wincing from the pain her cuts caused.
"My n-name is Ab-Aberdeen. I need help, my d-dad has my brothers, and I fear for them, c-can you h-help them. I know where they are, I could show you!" The girl said frantically, "Brianna, can I radio someone to get this guy, and take him to prison. I want to help this girl," Brianna simply nodded, and stood up the criminal in her grasp.
I glanced around trying to spot Wolfie. He was sniffing the area, probably looking for the drugs that had been dropped. Wolfie stopped sniffing, and picked up a bag filled with heroin, and another bag with cocaine. Wolfie looked at me happily wagging his tail, I nodded signaling he did a good job. I picked up the girl, and followed Brianna to the car.
We arrived back at the place where the car was parked. Brianna put the man in the back of the car, and I placed the girl in the front seat. "Hey Bri can you get a blanket from the back, and a first aid kit?" Brianna glared at me, "First off don't call me Bri, secondly, yes I will.
I laughed, as she opened up the trunk of the car, and grabbed a blanket, along with a first aid kit. She gave them to me, and I gave them to the girl, and began patching up her wounds. "You're lucky I am friends with you. If you were just my friend, and called me Bri I would go insane, and summon all my chaos from within me."
I finished patching up the girls wounds, and turned to my partner. "Sure you would summon all your chaos, but we both know you're not that violent, unless it's during our job. Any other time you would cry if you hurt a soul," She turned around, and pulled out her radio, "Hey Xavier, I'm cutting your smoking break short. I need you to come pick up a criminal, and take him to the station. You can figure out what to do with him."
I smiled, 'this was an interesting night, and it's only the beginning.'
Gah! I'm super sorry for not having this out yet! I though this published a few weeks ago, but it didnt. I never realized until now. If something like this happens again I deeply apologize. Chapter 2 will come out hopefully Monday or Tuesday. School is starting up Wednesday. I write stories during homeroom, and free time during classes. Hopefully this year I can do the same thing like last year, so I have more time to write chapters.
This story will have slower updates, because I want to write chapter for other books, and start rewrites. If this story doesn't have a chapter update for a while blame school and other books.
