Chapter 1

~Chase~

It was July 16th, the first day of the Lights Out Tour. I had just gotten back from vidcon a couple days before and I was exhausted but the excitement of the tour was too overpowering. I would finally be able to see the group again. I heard there would be a new kid attending, Noen Eubanks. I had only ever seen him on tik tok and Instagram but I was excited to invite a new guy into our crowd.

It was a shame that Caleb Finn wasn't able to attend but on the inside I felt a little relieved. To me, hanging out with an older adult felt like we would have been controlled by him. Nevertheless, I was happy. The OG group would be there. Anthony, Jaden, Payton, Griffin, Cynthia; my girlfriend, Chase, and Kevin. Plus Noen.

I was supposed to take a flight out to Boston where the tour bus was waiting for us and where I would meet up with the crew. So, I said a quick goodbye to my family and got on the first flight to Boston.

When I landed, I called an Uber and drove to where the tour bus was supposed to be. As I approached the bus, I could already see recognizable faces. The only one that didn't look as familiar was a pale boy, about the same age as I was, with the alluring white looking hair that hung around his face.

I got out of the Uber and greeted everyone with long hugs and short conversations. When I thought that I had said hi to everyone, I noticed Noen standing a little outside of the group.

"You must be Noen. I'm Chase." I said as I approached the boy with the hypnotic eyes. I stuck my hand out for him to shake and he took it. I don't know what happened but I felt something. My heart race started beating faster and I couldn't quite explain what was happening.

He let go and said only two words. "I know."
He was still smiling with rosy cheeks when I spotted Cynthia over by Anthony.

"I'll talk to you later," I said to Noen before turning and walking over to greet Cynthia. She noticed I was walking towards her and came running up to me. Her hug felt like old times except it was always the same feeling. Nothing new.

We all got on the bus. The good thing about it was that it was so big that everyone got there own seat, meaning we didn't have to share with other people. Cynthia on the other hand wanted to sit together. I felt the same way, I mean I didn't want to be bored to death by myself. Cynthia grabbed my hand and led me to a seat in the middle of the bus. She pulled out her phone and started to FaceTime a friend of hers.

It was about a couple minutes in the drive and Cynthia was ignoring me to talk to her friend. I spotted Noen sitting a couple seats behind us. He looked peaceful. His hair still covered half his face giving me a glimpse at his ethereal eyes.

I hoped that we could be good friends. He seemed like a nice person. But I wanted to get to know him more.

He was a mystery to me. One that for some reason I felt a connection with.

And I, Chase Hudson, wanted to solve the mystery of the Noen Eubanks.
