If I had to, could I disobey you?
Could I break a promise I had made to you?
I like to say never in a million years
But I don’t think that would be trueIf I felt it was in your best interests then I would
You being happy is all that matters to me
My happiness comes second
But don’t feel bad, I want it that wayStill, I could break a promise I had made to you
I’m not saying I will, just that I could
I will do anything to make you happy
Even if it means I have to suffer for a whileMy suffering doesn’t matter even though you think it does
I want only to make you happy
And if promising you that I’ll stay away will do it
Then I’ll have to break that promise too
