~~TATE
Leah slept soundly all night after the movie; I didn’t want to disturb her while she slept so I dematerialized from the room. I decided to go on my usual route around the house; it was early so I only expected to see Moira around. I crept silently keeping my footsteps silent when I went downstairs. I saw Moira was prepping for the breakfast for Leah and her family like she normally did.
“Yes Tate?” she asked with her back to me, I rematerialized into the room sitting on the stool with my hands across the marble counter.
“So I see your starting to like me?” I smirked where I could tell she wanted to roll her eyes by my comment.
“As long is Miss Hale is happy then I’m happy.” She answered where I knew that wasn’t her answer she was happy to reply. “You know her father will learn the truth about all of us and you know what will happen.”
“I’m aware of this; I guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it.” I replied where she turned to look at me with a curious look in her eyes.
“So what do you plan on doing Tate? You going to claim her soul condemning it to an eternal life here with the rest of us?” she asked where I tightened my grip slightly where she got a little nervous.
“She has legal rights when she turns eighteen in a month to stay without her father’s permission.” I exclaimed where she looked at me almost unconvinced on what I meant by that. “She can publish her book she was working on in secret and when she gets that published she’ll gain enough money to keep this place for herself.”
“Even if that happens, she will age and you will be stuck as a seventeen year old ghost. Will you still love her even after she looks like me? You know she can’t have your children either.” She explained where I knew in some way she was right about that, I could feel a pair of eyes watching me and when I turned I didn’t see anyone there.
“Like I said we will cross that bridge when we get to it.” I answered, it felt like two or more hours passed when I heard someone coming down the stairs. I stood up where I watched her father walked into the kitchen almost like he was startled by my appearance. “Good morning there, Mr. Hale.” I walked passed him giving him a slight chill down his spine.
“I swear Moira, that boy gives me the creeps.” Her father answered where I could only listen to their conversations.
“He’s known to do that.” She replied where I slightly chuckled before heading towards the stairs. “What is that you are working on Mr. Hale?”
“I decided to take your advice, I’m going to find everything I can about this Tate Langdon.” He exclaimed where I felt myself get nervous where I rushed up the stairs hearing what her father said. I bumped into Dina who looked like she just woke up startled to see me.
“Sorry Dina.” I apologized slowly moving away from her while she shook the fog from her face.
“Morning to you to Tate, would you mind letting Leah know I will be going to the store for books. If she wants anything from there, have her call me.” She replied where I nodded before opening Leah’s door quickly seeing her writing in her journal. She slightly jumped seeing my worried expression on my face.
“What is it Tate?” she asked where I tried to figure the right way to place these words.
“We have a small problem.” I answered where I hinted at her with my eyes what was about to go down and I saw worry enter into her eyes
