Choi Seoyeon places both of his hands on his back.
"The paint was done at 11:34 pm. It's all we know for sure..." Seoyeon looks at the three of them alternatively. "We've had a break in." He states confidently averting his gaze from YN to fix it on the male pair. "What I want you to do is to find out who did it and I'll pay you. You say how much and the money is yours."
YN eyes him warily. It isn't like she doesn't want to believe what the banker said about the break in, but one thing her job has taught her is to never take anything for granted: it may or may not have been a break in. Besides, the way he has offered them the money... it's too arrogant.
While Jin just stares at Choi Seoyeon with an cryptic expression, Namjoon raises his hand and shakes his head.
"In first place, we need to clear up what happened here, so I don't reckon this moment is the right one to talk about money, don't you think Seoyeon?"
The man's cheeks turn into a light shade of pink and bows as if apologizing. And YN can't help but be clapping in her head: that was a hell of a burn! And in such a polite way! This is the Namjoon she has read about: intelligent, polite and more than capable of putting anyone in their place.
Jin then smooths absently his coat while looking around.
"Mr Choi, we would need to take a better look at Mr Lee's office, there are still a few things we need to check."
"Of course, I'll let you work. We'll keep in touch, Namjoon."
"Indeed."
That being said, Choi Seoyeon leaves the three of them alone.
"Ok, was it just me or did he want to bribe us?" Jin asks his friend, crossing his arms in front of his chest and tilting his head.
"It wasn't just you." Namjoon sighs. "Miss Jeon, I'm sorry you had to see that. The only thing Seoyeon wants is to clear this mess as soon as possible and to prevent further scandals that could harm the bank. And I kind of understand him but, sometimes, he can be a little too... um... how can I put this nicely?" He smiles, making his dimples come into view.
YN chuckles and dismisses his worries with a quick movement of her hand.
"It's nothing, really. I come across this type of people more often that I would like to. But the way you've made your point has been remarkable, Mr Kim."
For a brief second, Namjoon stays speechless; he wasn't expecting a compliment. Jin coughs a bit to prevent himself from starting laughing at Namjoon's starstruck face and the fact that YN's made him go blank.
"T-thank you. Erm... yeah, c'mon, we need to get our heads in the game. Let's look for clues: that strange symbol is a message but the first thing we need to find out is to whom it is directed."
"On it!" Jin winks and goes to the balcony of the office, dangerously bending his body over the railing.
Whilst YN moves forward in an attempt to stop him from leaning out even more, Namjoon just smiles and starts wandering around the cubicles and making a phone call. After a few moments that seemed like an eternity to the young woman, Jin finally steps away from the balcony and smirks when he sees her pale face.
"Did I scare you?"
"For a moment, you did."
"Oh, I'm touched! You don't even know me and you already worry about me."
YN makes an effort so as not to roll her eyes at him.
"If you had fallen down, I would be the one the police would try to put the blame on. Of course I was worried about you." She smiles playfully, regretting what she has said the second the words left her lips. Has it been too much? She doesn't know him that well... You are an idiot YN, she scolds herself.
