Promised? {Eren x Armin/Eremin} Sad SnK Oneshot

The Ocean [Eren's POV]

Ah, we made it. The ocean. It is just as I hoped it would be, and more. It's beautiful dark blue, green, and turquoise hues caught my eye instantly. We really made it, it's really here! 

I slipped off my dirtied boots and made my way through the warm sand. The small grains slipping through my toes tingled, and I reached the cold waters. Small waves lapped at my feet, begging me to dive in and swim out to the deep. Squating down so I was sitting on my knees, I looked to the side. Nothing but the clear, sparkly sea.

"Hey, Armin. This is it. We've finally made it here, to this world you've taught me so much about. It's amazing, isn't it?" I laughed, and felt something tickle my cheek. Lifting one hand, I touched it gently. Water. I was crying, eh? "Ah, I'm such a baby, I don't know why I'm so moved," I chuckled, wiping at my now tear-streaked face. "The tears just won't stop coming!"

Seagulls squaked from above. Waves were crashing in the distance. I looked down. "Hey... it's the same for you, right? Come on... We promised to look at it together, after all."

Lowering my arm, I stroked his cheek gently, and wiped at the droplets that were now falling to his face.  "Take in the sight properly, and open your eyes, silly." His cold face made no expression, and he showed no sign of moving.

"The sound of the sea... the smell of the seawater...

Say, Armin. Can you tell?

This is.. This is the world you were dreaming of, Armin." 

I hugged his charred body tightly in my arms. Kissing his paled and chapped lips repeatedly, I choked out, "Hey.. Come on! Open your eyes! We promised that we'd see it together, remember? It was your dream. You're.. you're my dream!" My vision grew cloudy as the salty water poured from my tearducts, and slipped down to splat on his burnt face. 

"Why.. won't you wake up..? I love you. I thought... I thought you told me that you'd never leave me, that we'd be together for the rest of our lives..

I was going to marry you.."

Thunder stormed from above. It was going to rain soon.

"We promised...

You promised.."

He must've forgotten.
