"goodbye"

Lingering and hard for longer times apart. Ones that curve A's body against B's and cause hands to splay against backs. Or short pecks, maybe not even completely on the mouth for short trips to the grocery store.

"I don't want you to go."

Finn chuckled against your lips, puckering and kissing you three last times before pulling away, reaching for his shirt on the ground as you adjusted your skirt.

"Blinder business," was all he said, shoving buttons into holes and popping his collar, slipping his tie around his neck. "Tom said it won't take long."

"Tom said," you sighed, sliding to the edge of your bed, legs slipping apart as Finn knelt between them, hands settling on your waist, tie waiting to be tied. "Whatever Tom says, aye?"

"Tom said that if you try to fight him again, he'll hang you from a tree by your ankles," Finn joked lightly, your hands expertly tying the black silk tie around his neck while his hands held fast, thumbs rubbing into the bones of your hips. "And considering he's done it to me before, I wouldn't take your chances."

You pouted, dragging Finn closer by his tie, lips pressing together sweetly. He pulled away with a small sigh, rubbing the tip of his nose against yours.

"I'll fight Tommy Shelby any day of the week," you swore, teeth biting down on Finn's bottom lip playfully. "Monday through Sunday, baby."

Finn laughed, and you swore the sound was like audible sunshine. "Love, you really need to stop watching those American films."

You rolled your eyes and stood, helping him into his vest and buttoning the buttons before handing him his coat. It seemed as though you couldn't help the natural gleam of worry in your eyes, as Finn took hold of your chin and peered into your eyes.

"C'mon, love, we spoke about this," Finn murmured, lips landing on your forehead as his hands gripped your upper arms. "Tommy's keeping me as safe as he can, but I've got to pull my weight."

"How much weight is there that your three other brothers can't carry it on their own?" Finn didn't say a word, forehead laying against yours. "I never want to see the light leave your eyes the way it's left Tommy's."

Cracking a smile, Finn pulled away from you, hands smoothing up your back and pulling you in close.

"Give me a kiss for the road, aye?"

You rolled your eyes. "In your dreams, Peaky Boy."

Finn laughed at that, and what else was there for you to do except kiss the stupid grin off his face?
