Misty*
"Have you ever seen the view of the lights over the river?", I say into his ear, the bar's loud music made my voice just barely audible.
He shakes his head and smiles, he speaks back into my ear from behind me, "No, I haven't."
I am mesmerised by his eyes and the corners of his smile, he has the sweetest smile. His hair was gelled back, he wore a tight fitted white text shirt and black chino that hugged his perfectly shaped thighs. We've hung out a few times now, but only in crowded bars with all of his friends.
"I'll show you sometime, when you're not too busy.", I look over my shoulder at the group of girls trying to grab his attention. One pushes in between us, grabbing his arm as she does, she mumbles something about her number and promptly takes out her phone to take down his.
I sink back, feeling kind of rejected, this girl was an immaculate blonde with a body like a bomb. I take a big gulp of my drink. He pushes past her after a very long, almost too friendly hug and stands behind me again, his arm over mine.
"Let's see that view?", he places his palm on my lower back and smiles politely again.
"You sure you're not too busy?", I raise an eyebrow at him and then throw a look at the blonde who was still gawking from a distance.
"No, I want to spend some time with you tonight as well.", he pushes me away from the bar and to the stairs. We walk silently and I see the eyes follow.
We walked over the parking lot to the grassy patch that overlooked the river. The orange lights reflected in long lines along the dark blue water, the ripples created the most dramatic effect whole the smokey black sky was covered in stars.
"See, it's beautiful.", I point along the river. He nods in agreement. He starts to walk along the concrete path that runs along the river bank.
"Let's see it from this side?", he gestures for me to follow him up the path.
He becomes distracted by a group of ducks, just one mother duck with one baby duck.
"Where's the rest of the babies?", he asks with a puzzled expression.
"Back at the nest?", I reply, just as confused.
"It's always instinct for the babies to be near their mother, something isn't right."
Before I can say anything the water splashes out at us and more ducks surface.
"See, I told you.", he smiles sweetly at me.
"Okay Mr Biologist. One for you.", I giggle at him. He points at the grassy patch, gesturing me to sit. I sit down first and he slips next to, his elbow rests on my thigh and he opens his arm for me to wrap mine around his. It's freezing cold, and I feel the goosebumps on his skin.
"If you wanted to get me alone, you should have just said so.", his nose brushes against my ear before he rests his head against mine.
"You seemed kind of busy.", I look down at the spot where my hand rests on his thigh.
"Trust me, those girls have nothing on you.", before I could say anything his hand lifts off my thigh and snakes towards the side of my face, his long fingers reach around my cheek and twirl into my hair.
Under his control my face is now lifted towards his, his nose nuzzles against mine as his hand holds me in place. His other hand tightens around my waist, pulling my body closer to his.
His lips peck lightly against mine, butterflies explode inside my tummy and my hand reaches up to his hair. He pulls away slowly, a soft smirk growing on his lips.
"You're in a whole category of your own."
