Chapter 9

Story:

I was on my way to lunch when a petite-looking girl with curly brown - who I immediately recognized as Jessica Stanley-, came walk/jogging up to me.

She smiled a- if I hadn’t read Midnight Sun I would’ve thought genuine- perky smile. She did a little wave and in a very perky voice said "Hi, I’m Jessica and you must be the new student ummm...Melody Masen, right?" she said in an unsure voice.

I gave her a half smile “yeah I’m Melody, it is nice to meet you Jessica," I gave her a rainbow wave and started heading in the general direction of the cafeteria ignoring her as I did.

*what you just did was mean* said the voice.

I know but you heard what she was really thinking in Midnight Sun and I don’t want to put up with that especially on my first day, I thought back.

* I get that. BUT do you really want to make enemies on the first day?* it thought.

No..., I thought back glumly because I knew that, that was exactly what I had just done and silent groaned in my head.

When I finally made it to the cafeteria there were still lots of kids in line hopefully I could still get something good.

I got in line not really noticing the person in front of me. The line was moving slowly so, in boredom I looked at the person in front of me.

The first thing I noticed was that it was a girl. She was tall - taller than most- she had light brown hair, and I noticed that she was looking at me, with soft brown eyes.

Oh, I thought, its Angela Weber.

When she realised that I saw her looking she blushed and looked away.

I smiled to myself, so she really is shy.

I laughed softly at the thought, and decided I should talk to her.

With a small smile still on my face, I said, “hi, I’m Melody Masen, I’m new here, who are you?" sounding kind of shy, but nice at the same time.

Angela looked behind her with a surprised look on her face, and I guessed she had expected me to just ignore her.

she smiled a kind smile and said" it’s nice to meet you Melody, I’m Angela Weber" she sounded really shy but I thought she had a kind voice.

While we had our little into the line had moved an awful lot so we were now choosing our food, which thankfully had the good stuff and not just leftovers.

Angela had already paid for her food and was about to leave but before she did she gave me a small smile and was off to her table.

To my surprise she went to sit with Jessica and the rest of them.

I paid for my food and then got out of line.

Awe man I don’t know where to sit, and I obviously wasn’t going to sit next to Jessica and them- even though Angela and Bella were there-especially since Jessica was giving me a killing glare.

I rolled my eyes and started looking for tables to sit at.

To my surprise there was a table that was completely empty, I wonder why there was no one there?

Just as I was about to go sit at the empty table the cafeteria doors opened to reveal the best looking people in the world.

I sighed, well now I know why no one had sat there, it was the Cullen’s table and now that they were here I had to look for another table to sit at... great.

I turned away from the Cullen’s and went in the opposite direction they were going.

I found a table in the opposite corner of the cafeteria and although someone was sitting there it was otherwise deserted of people.

I sat down and the guy that was sitting here had his hood up and was ignoring me so I did the same I ignored him and started eating lunch.

As I was eating I stared thinking.

Well, I thought, at least it’s away from the Cullen’s.

Hey don’t get me wrong I love the Cullen’s ever since I first read Twilight, but I really didn’t want Edward to...well you know and find out a bunch of stuff that will mess everything about how it was supposed to go.

Then I started thinking that maybe my being here already did mess everything up.....aw shi-poopy :( !!(A/n she doesn’t like to swear)

I suddenly didn’t fell very hungry and pushed my food aside.

Man, now I’m in a bad mood, I thought glumly.

I sighed, if I wasn’t going to eat, I might as well talk to the person who was also sitting here.

I looked up expecting him to be ignoring me like before but, to my surprise he was staring at me. Now that his hood was down I could get a good look at him.

My eyes widened at was I saw.........
