Bonfire

Clawing at the wood with trembling fingers, stinging tears begin streaming down my face. An oil like liquid splashes in through the slits in the wood and my whole body begins to tremble along with my fingers. Click! A sudden heat rises in the air and orange flames flicker, forcing a scream to rise out of my throat. I kick. I struggle. My life flashes infront of my eyes.   No escape, no way out nothing I can do.   My body fighting to stay alive; wooden boards feel like scorching metal, burning my skin inch by inch. The fire is here, flames biting at me like sharks. I wail out in pain but there's no hope for me, I can feel my body giving up. Engulfed in flames, my burning but all I can feel is numbness. A bright light blinds me. A warm light, inviting me towards it. Is this the end of the road? Have I died?....
