I opened my eyes to find a ray of sunlight peeking through the windows. Small birds chirped happily about their lives. The mornings were always serene. Smiling I looked over to my right side and saw him sleeping. He was so cute when he was sleeping. I sighed. His hand was laying on my pillow and the sheets were mangled in-between his legs. A loud snore escaped his mouth and I stifled a laugh. His eyes fluttered open and I could see his green eyes adjusting to the lightness of the room.

"Goodmorning beautiful." he said groggily.

"Happy Valentines." I sat up and raised my hands above my head to stretch. He sat up too. Leaning over he planted a kiss on my cheek. And I snuck a hug in.

"What do you want to do today" I asked.

"I don't know. Coffee?" .

"Guess so." I said. I gave a disappointing sigh. Oh well. I got out of bed begrudgingly and trudged to the closet to look for an outfit. Something romantic but casual. Sorting through my closet I chose a brown leather jacket over a floral blouse I undressed and redressed while picking out some dark jeans that matched my boots. I made my way over to the bathroom and took a look in the mirror deciding to keep my naturally wavy hair down and wrap the look up with some red lipstick, mascara, and a little coverup. I grinned at my reflection to fluff up my mood a bit. Walking out of the bathroom I saw Ian wasn't ready yet so I grabbed my phone and put it in to my purse while walking to the kitchen to sit down on the oak chairs. The hard back hit me as I slumped down to look at my phone. I unlocked it with a click and touched the phone app because I saw a notification. An unknown number came up as a missed call, 214-764-9810. Huh. I opened up Facebook and scrolled down my feed stopping to marvel at a puppy's clumsiness or a turtles determination to get a strawberry. I fiddled with my toes.

"Ahem." Ian coughed, "wanna get goin'?".

"Yah sure" I said. Turning around I grabbed my knitted sweatshirt just incase it got colder. I smiled again.

"Which coffeé shop you wanna go to?" his weird accented way of saying coffee made me laugh. "What's so funny?".

"Oh just your weirdness. You know? It's totally normal I guess.". Ian jabbed me in both of my sides and I wriggled in his strong hands. He leaned down to kiss me on the cheek. I could feel them redden as he pulled away. He unlocked the door, opened it, and gestured for me to get in, "My lady?".

"What a gentleman you are." I said giggling.

"Sarcastic much?".

I clanked down the stairs into the garage. Our black car stood in the garage waiting to be ridden in. The car clicked and I opened the door. I watched as the drivers side door opened and he slid in to his seat and settled into a comfortable position.

I had forgotten about his earlier question so I said, "How about we go to Rosalie's?".

"Huh? Oh. Sure." .

The garage door opened behind us and we wheeled out of the driveway. The rest of the ride was silence, squinted eyes, and positive vibes. Once we were three blocks away traffic became heavy and we had to pull over. I slid out of the car and swung my hand in his until we got to the shop. The windows were covered in purple, red, and pink hearts that gleamed in the morning sun.

As the door bell rang and we walked in, the clerk at the table went from a half asleep grim frown to a wide awake smile. He knew us as that one couple that comes in all the time.

"What will you guys be having on this special day?" he asked.

"Just a chai latte for me" I said.

"Go ahead and sit down" I stare at him for a moment. He nods.

I pick a small table by the colorful windows. I stared awkwardly out he while the coffee machines whirred. The smell of roasted coffee beans wafted around me. Finally Ian comes over and sits across from me.
