3rd person POV.

The detectives drive up in a police van, the other cars pull up behind them. They hurriedly leave the van and cars and storm into the building. They move from room to room searching for the suspects and the girl. Swiftly some of the policemen go down to the basement to find the girl on the bed. One of the suspects is there with her in the bed. They don't move though.

The officers slowly walk up to where they lay. The boy had been shot, and the girl was laying there helpless with a gun wound to her chest. They knew the police were suspicious of them. It had been 4 months since they first locked Ryan in the basement. Everyday she was abused and terrified for her life. And this was the day that she was truly was close to her deathbed.

One officer with medical experience went over to help the girl.  He applied pressure to her wound, then picks her up and rushes to his police vehicle and drives towards the nearest hospital.

Another woman was found in a room, Sierra. She also had a gun wound to her head. She lays on the floor limp.

The hospital.

A doctor rushes in attempt to save the poor girls life. The nurses by his side in the ER doing surgery to remove the bullet.

A detective stands in the hallway calling her father, and the boy who started this investigation.

Ryan is taken out of surgery, she lost a lot of blood and is in a critical state. Mathew the only one able to be there for her right now stands by her bed side watching her in her induced coma. Wires and tubes attached to her. Monitors beeping in the background.

Ryan's father getting the closest possible flight to see his daughter.

1 day later.

Mathew is still by her side watching her and waiting for any sign of life.

Her father had just arrived to the airport.

Ryan lay there asleep, breathing and fine. Until, her heartbeat slows down, and stops. Mathew gets up and starts shaking Ryan in attempt to wake her. He screams for the nurse.

"NURSE! Nurse!"

They run in and shoo him out. They bring in a defibrillator in attempt to bring her back.

They were too late. The police were too late, Mathew was too late,  her father was too late. This is all that runs through Mathew's head.

And then he hears it.

"Matt!"
