"Happy birthday!" Was the first thing I heard when I woke up. The week went by pretty fast and it was now Friday, October thirteenth.

I was greeted by my dad and my step mom holding a vanilla cupcake with a lit candle. "Make a wish." Jenny smiled. I made my wish then blew out the candle.

"I can't believe my baby is an adult now." My dad smiled. "Where has the time gone?"

I chuckle. "Thank you guys." I hug my dad and Jenny.

"Of course munchkin. Now, get dressed and ready for school." My dad said. "We'll be downstairs making breakfast."

After they left my room, I got out of bed and walked to my closet. I ended up getting a bunch of new clothes when I went shopping with Mo over the weekend.

I changed into highwaisted blue skinny jeans with holes in the knees, a black tank top, white sneakers and an off white fuzzy cardigan.

I put on make up, deodorant, perfume, a necklace, and curled my hair before grabbing my bag and heading downstairs

I put on make up, deodorant, perfume, a necklace, and curled my hair before grabbing my bag and heading downstairs.

"Well don't you look beautiful." Jenny said when I walked into the kitchen. I thanked her and sat down at the island.

"Who's the boy?" My dad asked as he flipped the pancakes he was cooking.

"There's no boy." I laughed.

"Who's the girl?" My dad asked again, handing me a plate of pancakes and syrup.

"Dad, there's no girl either. I just thought it was time for a change since I'm always wearing band tees." I say, eating a piece of my pancake.

"Good. Because with boys, there's sex. Then you get pregnant and die." My dad says.

"Andrew.." Jenny warned. "Don't listen to him, you look stunning."

"Thank you." I reply.

"I agree. And as long as you're not emo anymore, I'm good." My dad joked. Jenny lightly hit his side.

"I'm not emo." I laughed.

"The posters in your room say other wise." I playfully roll my eyes and continue eating my breakfast.

When I got to school, I didn't see Mo's car in the student parking lot. I swear if she ditched, I'll kill her.

As I approached my locker. I saw a card with my name taped to it. I pulled the envelope off the metal door and opened it. It was a birthday card.

On the inside there was no signature so there was no sign of knowing who it's from. I guess Mo could've put it her after school yesterday. I decided to shrug it off and thank her for it later when I saw her. I opened my locker only to find a velvet black, rectangular box.

Confused as to how someone knew my locker combo, I quickly remember that I gave Mo the combo a few months ago.

I grabbed the box and opened it. It was a silver 𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓶 𝓫𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓽. On it was a 'B' with a crown and a rose.

Sliding it on my wrist, I smiled at the gift Mo left for me. I grabbed my math book then shut my locker before heading to class.

"Happy birthday!" I hear a familiar voice yell. Mo hugs me then sits across from me.

"Thank you." I smile. "Where were you this morning?"

"Making you this." She said. Mo handed me a big cardboard box with the word 'sight' on the top, and a note that read 'being your best friend makes total sense.' "Open it."

I lifted the top off and inside were four different brown bags with all the different senses on them. For smell there was a Victoria Secret perfume, for taste there were different kinds of candy, for touch there was a framed photo of us on Halloween, and for sound there was a cd that read 'Bella's Bops.'

"Thank you so much

"Thank you so much." I say, hugging my best friend again. "This and the charm bracelet you got me are the best gifts I've ever gotten."

"Anything for you." Mo smiled with a confused expression. "But i didn't get you a charm bracelet."

I lifted up my arm and showed her the bracelet. "Are you sure? It was in my locker."

"It's cute, but I'm sure I didn't get you this." She said, looking at it. "Maybe you have a secret admirer." She winked. "Let's see.."

Mo looked around the cafeteria. "I bet it was Mr. green eyes over the." She pointed.

I looked in the direction and saw Satan himself sitting on the table, surrounded by his friends. "Ugh, as if." I quote my favorite movie. "He's too much of a douche to give a shit about anybody other than himself."

"You never know." Mo shrugged. "Maybe the idiot has a soft side."
