Chapter 1

Daisys Pov

I wake up with the sun beaming right into my face. I slowly sit up stretching and yawning. I look around the room and think to myself what to eat for breakfast, especially considering i had woken up early that Saturday morning. I walk downstairs and see a note my dad left me, "Hey sweetie! Sorry i couldn't wake you up this morning but i was called into work for a shift until about 4'o clock! Go ahead and fix yourself something to eat since i'm sure your starving at this point! See you soon love u! p.s take out the beef so i can make burgers tonight!"

I chuckle, my dad and i really are burger people. As i look around the kitchen, i think to myself, "hmm cornflakes or toast?" I decide on cornflakes, as i fix myself a bowl i turn on some cartoons and enjoy my Saturday afternoon.

A couple hours pass and i'm dying of boredom! I decide to text my best friend Sam since i know she'll have some free time today. As i wait for a reply i put away my dishes and hear my phone buzz. Perfect! She replied a lot faster than i thought! I tell her my situation and decide to invite her over since i've got nothing better to do. She agrees to come over and i'm super excited! Have i mentioned i've liked her for-awhile now? I've never had the courage to say it but i'm scared of her judging me even though she's pretty open about being pansexual.

I hear my doorbell ring and i quickly hurry over. I open it up and im enveloped in a tight embrace. I giggle and fold my arms around sams shoulders.

"Hey Sam!" I excitedly say!
"Hey Daisy! how have u been?" she replies just as enthusiastically,
"Great! what about you?" i reply,
"Pretty good! just bored as usual!" she says back. We laugh and i invite her inside. We sit on the couch together and laugh about silly things from puking up cheese crackers to having a debate about how on the packaging of a certain name brand gummy snack it's a blueberry and not a blackberry.

A couple of hours pass and my dads already home. I happily greet him as he decides to invite Sam over for dinner since he didn't want her to have to walk all the way back home so late at night, i take this opportunity and decide to ask her to stay the night. She happily accepts and texts her mom about it.

Once my dad finishes making the burgers, we enjoy eating together and laugh about silly things like ducks! Once we finish i do the dishes and go upstairs to pick out some pajamas for Sam since she didn't intend to stay the night. I pick out a cute dragon onesie that i was lucky enough to have in her size. I hand her the onesie and grin a big grin, all the way from ear to ear. She looks shocked and slowly takes the onesie walking slowly out to the bathroom. I laugh and decide to put on my normal striped pink pajamas.

Since we've known each other since we where basically fetuses, we share the same bed. As we lay down looking at the ceiling, i can tell she turns over to me and is admiring me. I feel my cheeks turn a little bit brighter but ignore it. I look over to her and ask a simple question.

"What do unicorns eat for breakfast?"
