Shawn Spencer was sleeping on the bed in the new house he had just bought. It was five fifteen in the morning when his phone started to buzz.

It was a phone call from his best friend, Burton Guster. Shawn grabbed blindly for the phone, answering it.

"Gus, buddy, what is it?" Shawn asked. There was a glaze of tiredness in his voice.

"Shawn, we have a case. Police Department, ASAP," Gus said discreetly before hanging up the phone.

Shawn groaned but pulled himself out of bed. He was too tired and didn't feel like changing out of his plaid pajamas.

He walked out of his room, groggily and into the kitchen. Shawn grabbed a coffee cup, filling it with coffee. He drank his coffe in one gulp, leaving it on the kitchen counter. Shawn slipped on a pair of slippers and he went ourside.

It was dark and the moon was still out. Shawn got on his motorcycle, driving to the Santa Barbara Police
Department.

---

Carlton Lassiter, Juliet O'Hara, Burton Guster, and Buzz McNab were sitting in Chief Vick's office. Chief Vick was sitting in her desk, they were all waiting for Shawn Spencer.

"Where's Spencer?" Lassiter asked, sounding slightly irritated.

"Shawn will be here," Gus said to Lassie.

Just then Shawn Spencer walked into the room, he look disheveled. His hair was a mess, different what it was usually. He hadn't shaved in weeks, granted none of them had seen him for a few months.

Shawn was wearing a pair of pajamas and slippers. There were also dark rings around his blue green eyes.

They all looked up at Shawn. "What took you so long, Spencer? And why the hell do you like shit?"

"I was asleep, Lassie." Shawn's voice was calm but it was dipped in irritation. Something the rest of them rarely heard from the psychic.

"Are you okay Shawn?" Gus asked, concerned overtook his voice.

"I'm fine Gus," Shawn said using the same tone. "Now tell me why you called me at three twenty in the morning."

"Shawn, tell me what's wrong." Gus said as he got up, walking towards Shawn.

The others didn't say anything. They just watched in mild concern.

When Shawn talked, he didn't sound irritated anymore. Now he just sounded pissed off. "There's nothing wrong with me!" He yelled. "Now tell me what the fuck is wrong! Or I swear I'll leave this room right now..."

Saying that they were all surprised, was in fact an understatement. They were bewildered. Shawn had never yelled like that before.

Though, before Shawn could leave Lassiter stood up. "Spencer," he said as calmly as possible. "Can I speak with you?"

Shawn sighed but he knew he would not be able to get out of it. "Fine but not here." the anger drained from his voice, leaving only exhaustion. Lassiter only nodded.

Shawn left the room first, followed by Carlton Lassiter. The last thing Lassiter said before he left the room was, "Follow us, any of you. And you will be sorry." He said as he put his hand in his gun.

Buzz McNab was quiet.

Gus gulped, this was sure to end badly.

And Juliet was well. She was a little worried but she was use to her partner's antics by now.

Chief Vick put her hands together. "We still have a case to solve."

The three of them jumped, they had forgotten Cheif Vick was there. "But..." Gus trailed off.

"No buts," Chief Vick said with little to no emotion. "We run a tight shift, Guster. And no amount of antics from our head detective or psychic, will change any of that."

Gus kept his mouth shut as he, Juliet, and Buzz McNab started to leave the room.

"And Guster," Chief Vick said before he left the room.

"Yes," Gus said nervously.

"Don't ever contradict again, got it," Chief Vick said in her usual demanding tone.

Gus nodded before leaving the room, quite quickly.
